The First Mission - (Chapter 1)
Marcus nods as his brother runs the question by them, ultimately it was the LT's call, but he figured he would toss in his two credits, "Considering he's the only one in the town that seems unaffected, there has to be a reason why. Might as well ask him outright to be honest."
---Everyone---

At that moment the door to the inn swings open and closed. The bartender turns to look at the door and starts shaking so uncontrollably his half-full beer is spilling over the sides of the glass he is holding.

The soldiers who can see invisible at will see this drift into the bar.

The little thing is maybe the size of a bird.  None of the patrons notice her as she floats to the bar and directly begins to inspect the the group one by one. There is some horrid squid like little creature squirming in her tiny hand.
Vigeo's urge was to pour as much fire as he had at the little thing. But he bites back the urge. He waits for a command. It is only then that he realizes that the LT might not be able to see the thing. He considers that for a long pausing moment. He walks over and nudges the old man, leanding down he says quietly. "Hey Old man you see that little thing on the bar? What the fuck is that?" he finally says figuring he might as well find out.
Aaron made it a point to keep his eyes hovering between the television screens and occasionally his compatriots and just generally tried not to stare at the strange creature for too long, but made sure to keep it in his peripheral vision. The thing clearly had cloaking abilities, waltzing into the bar without any concern for how a group of travelers would react to it (Aaron knew that feeling quite well, being a natural invisibility user himself). Personally, he wanted to wait and see what the creature did.

Don't stare. Aaron whispered furtively. I don't think it knows we can see it yet.

Looks like a faerie straight out of story books, holding some kind of...squid worm thing.
Listening, Khayman was suddenly glad he couldn't see the creature, he'd never been really good at pretending he didn't see shit when it was right in front of his face.
Marcus tries to get the bartenders attention, "Hey my friend.  A round of beers for that table. Be needing five." Like his brother just keeps eyes on who is talking too with the fairy thing in his peripheral. Figuring it would be odd not to take note of the bartenders very obvious and abrupt shaking, he asks. "You alright man?"
---Everyone---

The bartender jumped and dropped his glass of half full beer. He didn't bother to pick it up, "Uhh. Yea, yea, I'm fine." He turned to grab some glasses, "Just ..ah.  Rough day." He laughs uncomfortably, "Five beers coming up."

To those who can see her, the evil little fairy is glaring at the bartender, clearly not happy with him reacting the way he is.
Marcus nods to the man trying not to push him on the subject.  Nodding to Aaron to follow him, he turns and walks over to the table the LT picked out and took a seat facing the vid screen that allowed him to keep the fairy thing in his peripheral vision.

He keeps his voice very low so only those right around him see them. "Well - it's an evil looking little fucker for sure. All the old cartoons I saw depicted them to be happy little things. This one is all …black and creepy."
---Nolan---

Nolan gives a slight nod of his head to Aaron, appreciative of his and Marcus actually describing the critter, over Viego's completely non-helpful observances.

"Can you boys tell me who is in the fight? I have money on a coupl'a matches today and I need to know who is in the fight." Since the boys know there is nothing wrong with his vision, he hopes they realize he is not actually referring to the fight on the TV.

He wracks his brain based on Aaron and marcus' whispered descriptions.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
