This battle was made more difficult because you got yourselves caught in a dense Jungle where you had difficulty moving and seeing. Nangalu: 5,500 + 1,500 = 7,000 xp; LEVEL UP to 4th!!, 10,000 xp for 5th level.
Kubo: 1,000 + 1500 = 2,500 xp; 3,000 xp needed for 3rd level.

Feel free to double check. I'm only human and could have made a mistake in my calculations.
Can I just say, I legitimately thought that was going to be the end of Selina. I had no idea the creatures were glass cannons even though I really should have, and I went away from my own plan, which was to use Leading the Attack and Vanguard Strike to encourage our other melee combatants to beat them up...because I critted one and destroyed it in one hit. Then I decided to focus on getting all maneuvers readied and using Crusader Strike exclusively (because she'd get it back the turn after using it) to keep everyone's health topped off...until she and Tomeal got their rear ends handed to them. So I turtled up even though Selina is definitely NOT kitted out for turtling up at all!
