Nova nodded at Jendu and gestured toward the common room, leading Rahullu and the Senator over. She wanted to give Jendu the benefit of the doubt. Despite her initial apprehension at having a civilian in the field with them, she had learned early on that in the Rebel Alliance, though you often made due with what you had, each person still had something they could contribute. Fortunately, Rahullu offered a response and Nova agreed.
"Lu's right, first things first. We'll have a few hours to figure that out. Right now, well... we may've just been ID'ed. We might have to mask the Crate Draggin's energy signature. Tiktuk and Veir can probably – "
Suddenly she heard retching. And more retching. As Veir stumbled out of the refresher and toward the food synthesizer, Nova saw that Tiktuk had propped herself up in one of the child-seats, saying something she didn't quite catch. "I've heard of Jawa beer. That sounds like a great idea." Veir answered.
Then Tiktuk removed her mask to eat. Because seeing the Jawa without her mask was still so uncommon, Nova couldn't help but stare for just a moment. When Tiktuk noticed and they made eye contact, Nova awkwardly offered her best fake smile in response.
As Rahullu thanked each member of the crew in turn for their role in a successful escape, Nova mentally reviewed what their options might be:
Jury-rigging a sensor baffler or new transponder ID codes? She had no doubt that Tiktuk and Veir could pull something together. And despite firing off only a few wild shots, Jendu's reflexes seemed sound enough – plus he was willing to learn. With Veir needed on the guns, Jendu would probably be able to handle shield operations just fine, even the nav-computer if need be, as long as he prepared and focused only on the task at hand.
Once they got to the prison site, she hoped that they'd still be able to place someone amongst the staff, but who? Herself? Veir, because of his prisoner ground transport experience? Could the Senator handle such a prolonged bluff?
"Masking our ships signature may be the first order of business, regardless of our time constraints. Or perhaps when we get to CorpSec we could trade ships? Or steal one?" Veir offered. Nova smiled. She was glad the Bandits were on the same page – and she'd gladly trade their sleepy Bantha for something sleeker.
