Toot still has a backup plan. Before he was planning on Drilling though the floor on an upward angle to get into this room (Which I'm glad he decided not to do.) 
Instead he could do the opposite and drill on an angle downward to get back to the room on the other side of the metal door where we were using everburning torches to find the antimagic field.
