"Yes, we can return to Sea Jewel but we suspect it is a one-way travel."
Toot realises that the guard's form is an illusion: it is the orc Toot saw before! The halberd is an illusion covering the signature double axe.
The armorer notes the scrutinious look of the druid and immediately comments.
"Forgot to mention that orc-- he's fine too." With a smile, he points at the "guard".
Upon this cue, Torin and Portho immediately realise the illusion as well. Murkatos adds another bit.
"If they wouldn't be fine they wouldn't have been escorted by an elven wizard, would they?"
This raises an alarm in Toot. Elven wizards don't have good reputation where he comes from... But then again, these strange names-- Sea Jewel, Pelor -- make no sense to the druid either; maybe these people come from a different place? A very different one?...
"What you mean you can return but you suspect it one-way travel. You just said you arrived here through the pillar of light. If it is a one-way travel, how do you plan to use it to escape?"
Then to the illusion disguised half-orc, Toot says, "Nice Double Axe."
Toot didn't care where these 'humans' came from and as for their funny sounding gods, if they granted helpful spells and they were willing to cast them upon him and Boo then that's all that really mattered. Even if they were of questionable moral character, it didn't matter as long as they didn't attempt to harm them. But that was still to be tested. One could argue that Half-orcs and perhaps even Grey Dwarves are looked upon with less prejudice than Jermlaine, who are seen as little better than vermin to be exterminated. Toot wondered how quickly that Double Axe would come into play if they knew he was Jermlaine. Which was why he took the form of a Gnome. People see them as cute and harmless, little tree-hugging, tricksters. It made him throw up a little in his mouth, to which he thinks, 'huh... I don't remember eating that...' Then with a mental shrug Toot dismisses the random thought from his mind and then thanks the mother goddess that at least none of them were gnomes.
