To expand upon what Aurum was saying, it's something I call Dynamic Roleplaying. Generally speaking, I will usually announce a span of time (usually a week) and during this time many things might be happening at the same time. You could be going out on a date; fighting in the danger room; on an adventure; etc. Each event can have its own thread. For example, while this encounter is happening with Static Charge, I have two other threads going (albeit very very slowly at the moment) for Malcolm and Gedeon's pre-mansion stories (Issue #0). If there is something you would like to do with your character, just let me know and I will create a thread for you to Role play in. It doesn't even have to have anything to do with me as a DM. During an event like what's going on with Static Charge, I usually don't add any more events because I can't be sure how what happens here could effect future events. I hope this makes sense...
Also, I think it would be a good idea that whenever anyone attempts a power stunt that the player should also mention how many times they have done the stunt in the past. Therefore we can be sure the right colour result is rolled and the amount of Karma is correct. You don't want to use more Karma than you have to.
