The Stirrings of War - (Chapter 2)
#81
Son of a fucking motherless goat, Cord swore as he jumped up and started striding towards the ATV, not seeming bothered by the fact that he was naked, giving a glare at the dog boys as he made his way there and ripped the ball-gag apart with casual ease as he did.  Really fucking hope my clothes are in there he thought as he climbed into the back seat and started looking for his gear.

---Everyone---

Everyone piles into the ATV and starts out of Naptown heading southwest into the farmlands.  The doboys transport is just behind and the Psi-Stalkers as well, soon can be spotted pulling up behind them.  After about three hours, the group arrives at Markstown.  Dread settles in a bit when the group approaches the town.  As far as ten miles out, they can all see the town still smoldering.

As the three Coalition vehicles approach the broken Gates, no one sees any sign of life or remaining resistance to whatever destroyed this place.

Nolan taps Aaron on the shoulder, "Pull over about hundred yards away from the gate.  We'll scout on foot."  He looks over at Viego, "You're on aerial recon, We aren't too concerned with being stealthy this time."

With that said he slide open the side door and dropped down on the old asphalt road. "Lets go gentlemen."

Marcus jumped out of the shotgun seat in full armor and pulled his greatsword from the weapons storage.  "Finally not having to sneak around this time is refreshing on one hand."  He looked up with a somber expression at the devastated gates and smoldering town, "...Though fucked up on the other because it's not necessary."

Viego perks up at the words aerial recon. He is in the suit so fast it was hard to tell if he heard the whole word or not. "About time. I haven't flown in so long I was starting to feel like my feet were tied to the ground."  The look of pure joy as he gets in his SAMAS is undeniable.

Tiburon climbs out of the vehicle and activates his heat vision. As the group is walking down the street he sweeps back and forth looking for any posable life heat signatures.

Fully armed and armored up, the Master Sergeant wordlessly exited the APC and moved to take a better veiw of the smouldering mess that was Markstown.

Here, take Scooter out for a spin with you. Otherwise he might get jealous. Aaron deadpanned at Viego as he punched a few commands into the console and set the drone loose alongside Viego on auto-pilot. An extra pair of sensors couldn't hurt.

He then hopped out of the vehicle with his trusty rifle slung over one shoulder, with a knife tucked away in each boot, just in case. What a life for these backwoods towns. Aaron looked at the smoldering ruins of the town and shook his head. They're either getting pumped full of mind-worms, or blasted to oblivion. Poor bastards can't catch a break.

The towns gates were blown off completely as the special unit approached to get an idea of what happened.  As they stepped through the gates, there is a moment of stillness and silence.  No crying, no moaning, no sounds of humanity in the slightest.  The things that came for these people did thorough job that was for certain.  The only upside was that at first glance, they towns destroyers did feel the need to linger.

(DM - You guys can span out or move in groups to scout the town.  It's up to you.)

Tiburon continues to move with the group scanning for heat signatures and movement. Unless ordered to move in another direction.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
