Droskar's Crucible
You...you all felt that, right? Toryn asked nervously as he scanned the seemingly empty room. My chin hairs are tingling like mad. And I don't think it's the dust!

Action 1:Seek: 1d20+7 25
Action 2: Shield on Self (+1 AC, DR 5 Shield Block)

Larz can see nothing but he can feel a very evil presence, standing in the hall way is definitely not working. Perhaps he can do something to draw the creature out, Larz advances into the room staying against the north wall. He moves into the room then casts light on a coin and flips it into the center of the room.

Actions
1 stride
2 casts light
3 tosses coin into center of room

Dunndero looked at the shadowy room and growled as he advanced in the room into the center, and swung his axe at a shadow he thought he saw flicker and then everyone saw it as the axe passed though it; a deeper shadow than the shadows of the room in the shape of a dwarf. The magically lit blade of the axe cut through the dark space pulling shadowy substance with it as it went.  He then struck again and misjudged the whereabouts of the shadowy creature and his axe bit into the bench.

Larz strained his eyes trying to make out what Dunndero swung at and decided to change the dynamics of the situation and snuck around the corner and cast light upon a coin, tossing it into the center of the room. The room was fairly well lit now and where there were still shadows it wasnt as dark ...and the creature could be made out fairly clearly.

Breezy looked from the rear of the group, staring around and through legs...and he could make out the shadow dwarf ahead and tried to figure out what he could do. Puzzled, the little Leshy stared and tried to figure out what he was seeing...and couldnt recall what hed heard about something like this ((rolled Recall knowledge Religion DC 19. Rolled 15))

Oriana moved into the room and projected fire from her gate towards the shadowy creature. The shadow seemed to absorb a good amount of the flame She launched into it, but it started to burn around the edges, causing the shadow to get smaller.

Lucian tried to recall what it might be, but couldnt remember...but he was fairly sure a Phase Bolt would hurt it, because it hurt most things.  The bolts must've blinked out of phase at the wrong moment because it crashed into the wall and tore a chunk of stone from it.

Toryn rubbed his eyes making sure he was seeing correctly and brought up a psychic shield . The Gnome too tried to figure out what they were facing and couldnt recall anything he'd seen or heard about a shadowy dwarf.
((recall knowledge DC 19 rolled 11))

Kallista wasnt sure what it was, but she knew it was evil...She held her sword aloft and closed her eyes briefly and holy energy swirled around the blade and she stared at the creature as she opened her eyes and advanced quickly to Dunndero's side. The blade took on a pulsing white ghostly light appearance as she swung it. The blade turned slightly in her hand so the side was moving toward the creature and she quickly turned it. The Ghostly blade struck the creature and tore into it harder than it wouldve been if it was flesh. ((Blade is Ghost touch spirit blade for 1 round. )) The creature screamed in an echoey high pitched noise that grated on your nerves like fingernails on a chalk board.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Next round

The creature began to babble in a  language that made your skin crawl. ((Necril...By all that is unholy I will suck your soul out of your body and you will join me in the shadowy absence of life)) It reached a hand out towards Kallista The hand passed right through her armor and touched her flesh and she felt it go cold all along her midriff..and felt a tugging and those near her could see her own shadow was fighting against this creature struggling in her grasp as it was being pulled from her body.

Lucian raises his shield and casts Phase bolt at the thing again with a bit more confidence that it would actually hurt the creature. It looked as though Larz had destroyed it just as he fired his next bolt.  Good thing too as his aim was severely lacking.

(Action 1 - Casts Shield, +1 AC and gains Reaction Shield Block 5)
(Action 2 & 3 - Casts Phase Bolt at the Gristogar)

Phase Bolt Attack Check: 1d20+9 = 10 - Miss!

Dunndero saw Kallista's obvious pain and turned white from seeing her shadow disappearing. He renewed his assault with a vigor. bringing the axe around and through the incorporeal being. The glint axe leaving it reeling.

Larz followed up with a focused blast of positive energy...that wouldve healed anyone but in this case caused the negative energy of the creature to be extinguished and it cried out in pain as it dissipated and vanished from sight. In the room they had just came from was the sound of a sigh...and as breezy glanced that way, he saw the skeleton crumble to dust.  He remarked as such.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
