Chapter 1: Hollows Last Hope
Toryn scurried south past his comrades and towards the sounds of struggle. He used the wall for guidance and popped right back into the light after a surprisingly brief interlude with the darkness. The gnome finally got a glimpse of one of the creatures no doubt responsible for the blackout. Some kind of land squid, a sack of leather and bones. He was relieved to see his comrades were currently making mincemeat out of the odd critter.

The gnome focused his energies again and granted Harley a bit of primal luck. Then he tried to pinpoint Larz in the darkness and offer the same blessing to him. Thankfully, the dwarf's fervent battle cries made locating him relatively easy.

Action 1: Stride next to Dunndero
Action 2: Casting Guidance on Harley
Action 2: Casting Guidance on Larz: Flat Check Larz: 1d20 18 = success

Oriana Listened to the flapping of the membrane and aimed a blast of super cooled air at it, but it missed the mark coating the far wall in ice. Then she backed into the light next to Harley near Lucian.

Dunndero still holding the tentacle of the strange creature, pulled and almost lost his grip, but managed to maintain it with some luck and then jerked hard, the suckers coming loose from their hold. He threw the squid to the ground next to him and brought his axe down cutting several tentacles off its body. 

Larz looked at the creature clinging to his shield and saw another fly back in the room its body strangely lighter gray by a huge degree. and he tried to shake  off the squidlike creature from his shield not dislodging it. then He focused his mind and called out to Trudd in song. A vibration thrummed out 10 feet from him. The one on his shield was loosening its grip and the one flying looked like it had run into a wall and veered straight up to the ceiling. 

Satoru had seen bits and pieces of it struggling with Oriana but did could not see through the darkness to where it now lay on the ground trying to rise itself up, Arielle moved into the darkness briefly, and out the side next to the creature, reaching out with her hands all covered in amber and bark now. and tore its damaged body to ribbons as she stood and looked at Dunndero, Harley and Oriana. ((ooc-Im assuming you did your spell attack roll, though I didnt see it posted. You only needed an 8 and had hero points to burn if needed))

The Darkmantle that had been hit with cold and sonic energy in rapid succession flew up the ceiling and clung there, shaking, its body blending perfectly into its surroundings.

The one clinging to the shield released it and with a shove, took fight.   heading up to the ceiling as well. though this one Larz could track easily enough. 

The other one flew down to assault Larz yet again. he turned to watch it grab him around the shoulders. Its membranes covering his face. The tentacles moving to crush the air out of his body. 

Lucian stood outside in the bloody courtyard, where just a while ago they fought for their lives with the wolves and looked into the foyer where Oriana, Harley, Dunndero and Arielle stood. The remnants of one of the strange land mollusks fell from her conjured claws. He peered past them to the wall of darkness and tried to strain his ears to pick up any sign to tell him what was going on in there...to no avail. He put forth the effort to keep his mystical armor and shield up.

Breezy stood watching the stairway. and saw nothing that would be cause to worry.

Harley quaffed the potion and her eyes quickly adjusted and she found she could see into the dark she took note of one of the squids grappling Larz's head and shoulders and she strode into the chapel and right up to where he stood, and carefully hit the darkmantle with enough precision to not injure Larz. 

Toryn pushed past Satoru and ran briefly through the darkness to get behind Dunndero. and looked at the darkened doorway, listening. he took note of where they were in his mind, picturing the layout of the chapel and hearing their breathing and subtle noises. and called forth the primal energies that were his birthright and gave them both the luck of the first world.

[*]Undetected- You are flat footed against them. (or vice versa if they dont detect you). Can guess which square they are in to target. need to succeed vs DC 11 flat check. A seek action first can make the creature Hidden if successful.---supposed to be a secret check. and cannot use area effect spells vs

Larz had definitely never been in this position before, he try's to focus his will and connect with his God. But lack of oxygen was make his head swim and he could actually feel the darkness closing in, then something deep inside him snapped. Sounding much more like the wolves they had fought earlier then then a young fledgling cleric, Larz let out a loud snarling growl. GRRRRRR!!!! As he grasp his war hammer in both hands,  slamming it into the back of the creature wrapped around his face. Once, then again with all his strength looking more like the raging Harly then himself. Larz shook his head trying to shake off the dizziness and his  face hurt like hell from the two impacts of his hammer. But the creature definitely got the worst of their encounter as it slid from his head and fell to the ground dead.

Her injuries making her head spin, she summons the salty brine of the ocean to heal herself along with Dunndero who she could see was looking as bad as she was.

Closing her eyes to the initial jab of discomfort from the salt water seeping into her wounds, Oriana breathes much deeper and healthier as the magic worked it way through her system. Still pretty hurt, but much better than moments ago.

Dunndero's wounds also started to close, but not quite as well as Oriana's own.

Raising her shield, Oriana steels herself for having to enter the darkness again if need be.

Actions:
1st: Ocean's Balm on myself. 1d8=8 HP restored.
2nd: Ocean's Balm on Dunndero. 1d8=5 HP restored.
3rd: Raise Shield. +2 A

Feeling the healing magic surge through him, Dunndero says while glancing Oriana's way, " Thanks mam!, and then stops and studies the darkness before himtrying to get a bead on the critters flying anout the room or ob the ceiling , while grabbing the +1 hand axe from his belt.

Actions:
1. Seek Action: DC Flat Check =[1d20]=10
2. Manipulate Action: Grab +1 Handaxe from belt and ready for throw.
If my Seek Action allows me to make a ranged attack with the handaxe, Dunndero will make the throw, otherwise he will stride towards Larz.
3. Attack Action: 3rd Action Ranged Handaxe +1 Attack =[1d20-2]=9-2=7 (Miss, Use 1 Hero Point), 3rd Action Ranged Handaxe +1 Attack =[1d20-2]=4-2=2 (Miss, I think I need to make another offering to thedice gods!) or Move Action: Stride towards Larz.

Lucian focused again on the darkness, trying to get an idea of where the things were.  Regardless, he blasts the first squid he can perceive clearly.  If the squid Dun threw on the floor is still alive he lights that little fucker up.   

(Action 1 - Seek Action to locate a hidden Squid. - Failed)
(Action 2 & 3 - Cast Ignite on any Darkmantle that's visible.)

Harley wasn't wasting time to even laugh when she noticed Larz smash himself in the face with his own hammer, instead the young barbarian woman leaped in the air, whirling her huge hammer in a spinning arc as she swung one them twice at one of the tentacled menaces, unfortunately missing both times before landing in a crouch. 

Action 1: Jumping up toward the ceiling. Athletics: 1d20+6 26
