Chapter 1: Hollows Last Hope
it doesnt take long for the Wyvern to disappear from overhead and soon the group is travelling again. This time gradually climbing upwards towards Droskar's Crag. Every so often the Rocky Volcano can be seen through a break in the trees. The day is a sunny day and when they step out of the shade of the trees they can feel the suns warmth. But in the shade its easily 15 degrees cooler. Still winter has not set in yet and there is no snow. Just cooler weather. Late in the afternoon they come to another over grown clearing. This time though instead of a cottage, its the ruins of a monastery ahead that brings them to a stop.

The building sits squat at the foot of Droskar's Crag surrounded by stands of ancient, gnarled trees. Made of simple stone blocks worn smooth with the passage of time, the stout building appears to be slowly falling apart. Sections of the slanted shale roof have collapsed, and portions of the outer wall have crumbled. Weeds and wild thorny plants run rampant across the field leading up to the place, leaving only the slightest indication of a path that ends at the ruined front doors. Beyond an overgrown yard sits in shadow.

((ooc you are now on the Monastery map and your first post needs to have what exploration action you are using, just as the beginning of the hags hollow portion. You can place your character anywhere within the yellow bound area.))

As Dunndero moves cautiously towards the front door he will search for any hazards, traps or concealed ambushes or entrances.

Oriana lifts her shield as they approach the ruined monastery, on guard for any threats that might have spotted their approach.

Moving passed Oriana, the huge hammer at the ready, Harley walked along her eyes examining the crumbling walls and roof of the building for signs of trouble.

Action 1: Looking for trouble.

Breezy moves along with the others bringing up the rear. As it does so it decides to keep a look out for threats or dangers.  Going into a structure was not the druids specialty.

Larz walks up and stands between the Dundero and Oriana peering into the opening in the wall, studying the over grown court yard he thinks he see something laying in the weeds. Hey guys there's something laying in there.  The cleric points as he speaks. I can't make out what it is from here, but there's definitely something about fifty feet in against the far wall.

Lucian moves forward with the group, staying just behind the front line fighters. He focused his senses on magical threats.

[[Besides the fact that you guys tend to flood me with posts to catch up on…Satoru can’t really do much besides be a party face. And I think we’ve got at least one other who does that so…oh well!]]

The pair just seems to still be…following along. Not much for them to do when there’s no one to talk to. Normally pretty outgoing, Satoru seems to be pretty glum about things, and even his Companion is having some difficulty keeping his spirits up.

Toryn broke off from the main group momentarily to snoop around the building's perimeter first, starting with the east side. He spent a minute admiring the building and refreshed his memory on what the folks at the lumber yard had revealed about the Crucible. Dwarves were well-renowned for their impeccable craftsmanship and complex stone architecture; who knows what secrets this old, crumbling monastery held? Who knows what dangers lurked behind every corner?

The group approaches the crumbling ruins of the monastery. Befoire the front entrance are the remains of two statues, one has been knocked off its 2 foot high pedestal base, the other is covered in vines. The are both of a Dwarf holding a warhammer and shield. Dunndero stands before the one that is still standing atop the pedestal. Behind the statues an iron gate has fallen off its hinges completely and an overgrown courtyard lies further on. Harley, Larz, Oriana and Lucian all can see the partially covered body of a humanoid lying in the weeds of the courtyard. Toryn moves along the eastern side for a bit, noting the 20 foot tower closest to the party and at the far side of the courtyard, a matching tower has fallen into a crumbling pile of stone. The outer wall as also fallen allowing access to the courtyard if one wanted to crawl over the stones laying about.

Dunndero scrapes away the vines on the statue and sees words in dwarven that say All who Enter zzzzzzz zzzzzzzz give praise to zzzzzzzz zzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzz (the z's are where the words have been carved out with stoneworking tools)

Lucian can see nothing magical from where he stands looking around the area.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
