Chapter 1: Hollows Last Hope
#71
Breezy really looks at Dunndero now and nods at Lucian's words. "Oooh." Breezy turns around and hurries deeper into the shop and a moment later returns with a backpack on, a shield strapped to its back, and a morning star at its side. The small plant creature practically skips into the room as they come in.  It seems in their excitement they forgot they haven't gotten Laurel's agreement on the matter.

"Cheers for your help." Oriana says after being silent for the interaction with the herbalist thus far.

She had been looking about the shop, and was surprised by the small plant creature, but she was really waiting to ask what she really wanted to know from Miss Laurel.

"I am also looking for a wizard, he has a staff with an eye held in a claw on its end. The sheriff mentioned that fit the description of a bloke named Drazmorg that passed through here a while back but he remembered him speaking to you before he left town. Can you tell me anything about him or what you talked about?"

The tone of the meeting changes entirely as she raises her wings and becomes threatening. The big man stopped and grinned probably the evilist grin hed ever seen from a person. his voice lowered and he looked to become very calm, though he raised up on the balls of his feet. and his hands moved to his side, looking for all intent as a viper ready to strike. Thats how its going to be ehh. And here I thought you had some friendly questions. So what is your purpose of this meeting......

Satoru breathes a few times to calm himself.  Though the situation is far from ideal, he feels instantly more comfortable now than 5 seconds ago.  Clearing his throat briefly, he responds.  “I had every intention of asking you some friendly questions.  But now, I think you never had any intention of being friendly in the first place.  You see…she’s fairly reactive when it comes to something or someone endangering me.  So if you had greeted me calmly, this never would have happened.  As far as my questions go, I won’t bother asking someone who is openly hostile to me.  So my first question to you, someone I have only just met now, is: Are you openly hostile to me?”

Satoru began to talk and saw The overboss start to relax a little bit. his smile turned less evil than it had been and he nodded. I am not hostile towards you. If I had been you wouldnt be alive now. Im merely guarded. So go ahead and ask your questions.,,,friendly like. the last said in a bit of a sneer.

Larz answers that he will try and help recover Barlus or find out what happened to him which caused the Priestess to break into a grin. She happily answered You will? Id ever be so grateful.  after a second she said Wait here a minute and then turned and entered the temple. She returned after a bit bearing a sword in a scabbard. Look, she remarked. If he ran afoul of a lycanthrope, you may need a weapon like this to help...Its silver. Please take it and use it if needed. May The Swordmaiden guide your steps. with that she stood waiting for a second before returning to her labor

After learning of the Ironbloom Mushrooms and asking where they might be found Laurel said. From my own and Breezy's searches of the nearby wood, Id suggest going to Hag Hollow...she glanced at Breezy and the look of fear on the plant creatures face. Breezy Ive told you Ulzmilla's dead. You neednt fear The Hag any longer. Then she turned to the others. Ulzmilla was a hag that lived in a cottage in the North west part of the forest, in an area that was more marsh than forest. But shes been dead now for years, though her legend lives on. She always had odd herbs aplenty. So Id start there. then Oriana asked about Drazmorg and her exhausted face turned to a look of disgust. Yeah he came here. Bad lot that man. He had the stink of death on him. He asked about some herbal poisons, which I do not stock. Id be wary if hes in your future. I didnt feel at all comfortable in his presence. I heard one of his men saying they were going to search the caves and dwarven ruins on the far fringes of the Darkwood.

At Laurel's opinion of the wizard Drazmorg, Oriana felt this was the man she was after.

"Death indeed." Oriana snarled through gritted teeth, her face twisted by fury as her thoughts went to the tragic moment she met the wizard.

"He eventually made his way to the foothills of the five mountains, north of the Darkwood. Do you have any idea what he was searching for, beyond vile poisons?"

Breezy flinches at mention of the Hag Ulzmilla. It looks at the herbalist and scowls which is honestly kind of adorable to see the leaf face make emotional expressions.  "She kept me in a cage, she did. Dead? I won't believe till I see her bones."  in a voice that sounded like a petulant child.

after taking the weapon from the priestess, Larz replies, All we can do is hope that Barlus has not fall to the wolf curse. With the blessing of the Maiden and Trudd, our search will be fruitful.  Before leaving the cleric straps the silver sword to his back. Thank you for this gift Lady Gensar, I pray it never have to leave it's scabbard. With that Larz turns and begins the walk back to the inn. So Miss Harly, shall we enjoy a tankard before hitting the road?

For a bard and an entertainer of sorts, Harley never cared for the clergy or for the gods in general, not like their light magic ever did anything but cause pain and burn her flesh, but she had to admit the earnest, if believable, nature of the dwarf was surprisingly pleasent. Yeah, a drink sounds nice, It was time to get this over with and see if she remains or if the road calls.

Lucian raises an eyebrow and frowned at the talk of this dark wizard. The man had to have come here for a reason, and if the translation had caused Lucian's superiors worry enough to send him in search of this Glintaxe, he wondered if this man had come for similar reasons.  The translation itself sounded rather ominous, so a dark wizard in search of more information or even stumbling upon it was not a comforting thought.

Beyond that, He waited patiently for Oriana to finish her questions and Breezy to collect their things. When they mentioned the Hag, he felt his stomach drop a bit. Those nasty old bitches were best avoided when at all possible. So hopefully this one was indeed very dead.

A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
