A Dohwar, a Giff, and a Satyr walk into a bar [IC Thread]
"Yeah, lets..." Bazz's eyes widen in shock and then he whispers, "You want to jump 20' to 30' down?  Are you crazy?  You're going to get yourself killed!"

"Dohwar do not fly. We need a better plan. The plasmoid is not yet aware of us, so nothing is stopping us from dealing with it later, when we find ourselves at that level"

Anders nods and asks, "So we going on around to that opening?  Or we can try to quickly climb down the ladders?"

"I think the opening would be best."  If no one disagrees Bazz will sneak over to the opening.

[OoC: Bazz has devil's sight which I believe allows him to see in all kinds of darkness.]

You can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 120 feet.

Rupert tries to sign, "I NEED TO FIND SETHING TO USE FOR RANGED COMBAT, AS I CAN'T USE MY PISTOLS HERE IN THE PHOLOGESTON!"

{{The opening has a ceaseless beam of golden light emerging from it, and the phlogiston is all around so darkness is not really a concern.}}

As Anders holds out his light crossbow in offer to Rupert when the Giff pantomimes needing something to shoot, Bazz slips back towards the shining opening.  Peering around the corner to look into the room Bazz's face curled in a broad, warm smile.  Better that the golden sun of Theros shining down on him when he was a young child before he met the Sage, carefree and happy, with no concern for the risks and dangers of anything beyond the game he was currently playing .  A feeling of joy, hope, and ease bouys his heart and draws him forward into the entrance at the top of the tree.

Bazz was slowly advancing down a surprisingly level and smooth wooden tunnel, grown into the body of the tree itself. The black wood only seemed to amplify and concentrate the golden light streaming down the hall.  Ahead of him, in what appears to be a round chamber grown at the top of the trunk, a single mammoth golden rose grew through the center of the floor.  The stem itself was at least a couple feet thick and the glowing golden bloom was at least as tall as Bazz himself.  As he drew closer, the feeling of lightness, hope, and joy continued to increase making him want to come even closer.

{{Rupert, Melville and Anders can decide if they notice Bazz stepping through the door or if their focus is still on the Plasmoid below. Bazz you are charmed by the rose and currently seek only to be close to it and to bathe in its light.}}

"Forget the crossbow for a omen Rup.... BAZZ! Dammit wait for the group!" Melville frantically waves his wing to get the others attention, as he whispers desperately, knowing that Bazz cannot hear him at this distance, but unwilling to shout and alert the plasmoid.

It should be noted Anders is actually 2 squares to the right, but I moved him over to include Bazz in the view.

Rupert rolls Perception Check, to see if he notices Bazz, and Melville trying alert the group. Perception Check = [1d20+5]=8+5=13

[[OOC: Rupert definitely catches Melville's response. On the 13, he would see Bazz disappearing inside the tree.]]

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
