Crozar lets the blade end of the cleaver drop, not noticing the subsequent spurt of fluid spraying towards Kubo, and unfurling the gynoscourge.  With a snape of the long tool the Cacaetae attempts to tear open a gate through which to summon more help, but in this accursed land even the might of Sunshad chosen appears to be tested and nothing happens.

[[Crozar tries to summon an elemental and fails: Summoning Concentration Check: [1d20+5]=2+5=7]]

Last Round, Crozar concentrates to open a portal.  A shimmering oval flickers at the place he points but then it fizzles out and disappears.

Kubo, you can use a move action to pull out your crossbow.  But I assume you don't have the crossbow pre-loaded while it was dangling on your belt.  So you would have to use another move action to load the crossbow.  That would take up all your moves.  You might want to just ready your ax for the first creature that comes within range.  I will even let you keep your roll.

[OoC:  Good to know.  I looked at your sheet for Quickdraw but I didn't think to look for rapid reload.   Rolleyes ]

To grab and load his crossbow, Kubo needs both hands.  So he drops his ax(es) and in one fluid motion he pulls his crossbow, loads and fires at the closest critter and gets a solid hit.

The first small crab who finally pulls itself out of one the pores, scurries at the group and launches itself at Selina's dog!

Attack: [1d20+3]=14+3=17, Damage: [1d4]=2; HIT!!  Opposed Grapple: [1d20+8]=20+8=28, Dog: [1d20+3]=11+3=14; Small Crab Wins Grapple!

The Crab leaps on Tegab and bites the poor dog on the neck and immediately starts drawing blood.  [-1 con]  Dog yips in pain!

The second small crab scurries in and out of the hairs until finally it leaps at Crozar!  Tomeal attempts to block the critter but it's just too fast...

Attack: [1d20+3]=19+3=22, Damage: [1d4]=2; Grapple: [1d20+8]=6+8=14; Hit!!

Crozar must make a opposed grapple check: Base Attack=+1; Strength bonus:=+4; Size (Powerful Build) +4 = [1d20+9] is what you roll

The 3rd small crab leaps at Tomeal while he's trying to defend Crozar...

Attack: [1d20+3]=20+3=23, Damage: [1d4]=2; Grapple: [1d20+8]=15+8=23; HOLY CRAP!!  These guys are rolling amazing!!

Tomeal's Grapple Check: [1d20+10]=5+10=15; FAILED!

The critter latches onto Tomeal's back and begins draining blood out of his neck.

[It's now, Simon, Selina, Tegab, Betimi and Ning's turn]

“GET OFF MY DOG!”  Selina bellows in anger and draws her blade, angry bursts of green energy slithering along its surface.  Her eyes gain that familiar glint as she steps in between her allies and the oncoming insects (moves to E10).  She raises her blade and swings to strike down the vermin that dared to attack her pet and not her.

The Sword: [1d20+9]=9+9=18; Destroy: [2d6+3]=7+3=10; Fury: [1d6]=6

[[Moves to e10, draws blade, initiates Iron Guard’s Glare stance, attacks vermin]]

[[OOC:  Cacatae spines are only damaging when Crozar initiates the grapple right, not when he is being grappled?  Just verifying for future reference.
Spines: Thousands of tough spines cover the cactacae body. These protrusions allow them to deal 1d6 points of lethal damage (instead of 1d4 nonlethal) when they choose to deal damage as part of a successful grapple.]]

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
