A Dohwar, a Giff, and a Satyr walk into a bar [IC Thread]
#51
Sinistra appears as Rupert raises his tankard, and slides a new one in front of each of the new companions.  She smiles at Rupert's toast and slips away again.

Bazzalan gladly toasts to a long and prosperous friendship.  Actually, there wasn't much that Bazz wouldn't toast to.  When Sinistra arrives with another drink for the Giff, Bazz says, "I'm sorry my dear but this brew you bring must be our last, so I must close my tab.  But if all goes well we may be back in a few hours for even more celebration!"

Bazz will settle up the tab (just let me know what the total is) and then when everyone is finished, he will rise to his feet (err.. hooves) and make for the door.  The Satyr, being the social butterfly that he is, will of course say good night to everyone he's friends with and includes either a solid pat on the back, a hug, a kiss on the hand or cheek, or whatever else that's appropriate for each person based on their familiarity with each other.

Once Bazz is certain no one is forgotten, he leaves with his new friends to find work and adventure.

Melville's first ale wasn't yet empty. He toasts, but sibce alcohol has no effect on dohwar  he doesn't have any compulsion to gulp it down. It's also why he avoided the cider, sweets and juices will knock a dohwar on their butt.

Melville thanks the waitress politely and walks out into the street waiting for Bazz and Rupert to hoin. The sight of a dohwar walking the streets with a giff would actually be quite normal, they are the preferred bodyguards and marines of the dohwar, afterall. But he is sure Bazz will draw some eyes.

seeing Melville and Bazz finish thier drinks and meals and prepare to leave for Dock34, Rupert slams down his drink in one large gulp, stands up, grabs his pack and shoulders it, while bowing towards thier servor, and saying, "THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS MAM!" Rupert then steps out of bar onto the street behind his two new friends, and gestures up the street and says, "LET"S GO FIND SOME ADVENTURE!"

[OOC: total cost for all the drinks and the two meals would be 2 gold and 8 silver.  Plus whatever you would leave her for a tip.]

The three of you exit the bar amid several calls of farewell from various patrons and waitstaff to Bazz.  Sinistra gives you all a broad smile as you leave.

The market is crowded, although Rupert's size is enough to create a comfortable bubble in crowd for Melville and Bazz to walk through.  A loud Huerwati/Hadozee band is performing some kind of screeching, industrial sounding music, with a surprising large crowd of mixed races dancing and frolicing in front of their stage.  In the distance, fireworks and large scale illusionary skyscapes pop and dance over the High City.  The three of you make your way through the market crowd fairly quickly, and begin heading down Grand Street.

Just past Trader's Way, you notice a full parade heading towards you down Grand Street.  The head of the parade is a large group of elves, satyrs, teiflings and humans of all genders dancing and tossing out rolls, sweets, and cheap costume jewels.  They are lead by someone that appears to be a goliath wearing a garish pirate costume and a large paper-mache Crozar head.  Behind the group of revelers you can see a series of large decorated wagons bearing signs of some of the bigger merchants, businesses, and guilds of the Rock.

[OOC: Grand Street is quickly becoming impassible.  If you move quickly you can slip down a side alley and make your way through the back routes towards the dock, or you can fall back towards the Market and take Anchor Street around if you want to stay on the main roads.  Which way do you want to go?]

"IT IS GETTING TOO CROWDED OUT HERE, DO YOU GUYS WANT TO SLIP DOWN A SIDE ALLEY AND MAKE OUR WAY THROUGH THE BACK ROADS TO THE DOCKS, OR DO WE WANT TO FALL BACK TOWARDS THE MARKET AND MAKE OUR WAY AROUND ANCHOR STREET, IF YOU WANT TO KEEP TO THE MAIN ROADS?", inquires Rupert.

"We should go the long way around. A dohwar with a giff would usually mean a dohwar with a giff hired gun. No offense, but even if you spent the whole time screaming 'I am not his bodyguard' they would probably not believe you. And.. well, this is Bral.. where the illithid avoid dark alleys."

" THE LONG WAY IT IS THEN!" and Rupert turns back towards the market and to head for Anchor Street.

Bazzalan pays Sinistra 4 gold and says, "Good night fair lady.  As always your service was impeccable.   When you get a chance have one or three drinks on me."  Sinistra likely had men pawing her all night so he simply offers a gracious bow and the leaves with his two new friends.

Bazz will join them taking the long way.  But he places one hand on his money pouch and the other on his blade.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
