((Holy sh..!))

[OoC oh I missed seeinng the magical light crossbow]

Once Betimi has finished testing the limits of the backpack she will repack any of the unclaimed weapons and armour into it. She will add her light mace, light crossbow, longbow, and silver-tipped spear.

Items that were being worn or used are not likely to be cursed.

As for what she is claiming she will take the MW non-magical spear, and the magical light crossbow.. she is only proficient in simple weapons, and she is not willing to give up wearing the Hide of Unreth, even for a magical chain shirt.
Tonreal or Selina should take the magical half-plate. even if it is only +1, magical half plate is at least as good as non-magical, non masterwork full plate that Selina currently has..

If Tonreal or Simon can wear it they should take the magical breastplet, wear lighter armour, the elven chain or magical chain shirt are too good to pass up (Betimi would switch but the Hide of Unreth is a point of pride, kind of like a cavalier will not sacrifice non magcal full plate for even platemail +5, the platemail is better but the full plate is a trophy. Same with the Hide of Unreth)

Tonreal should also take the magical longsword or falchion.

We also need to divvy up the potioins and scrolls, they are identified, so let's put them wwhere they can be used, not buried in a pack.

the potions of enlarge person only works on humanoids so Betimi cannot use it... she technically is not humanoid (dun dun duhn)

Simon will mention that Weapons with evocation are likely to be at least +1 enchantment (attack and damage) and armors with abjuration magic will likely also be at least +1 (enhancement (+1 defense).

Are you going to test the wands?  Obviously, safely pointing them away from the group!  Tongue

[OoC thought we at least needed the command word.  If Betimi can UMD them she has a pretty high chance of catastrophic failure with UMD +6. Looking at Ningalu's character sheet he has the same, that's not even considering the Torque warping magic.   Testing the wands blindly is not safe.]

Selina notices the symbol and sighs.  Corellon Larethian.  You were a good person.  Perhaps you all were.  I hope we are not offending the gods using these items now...

While the others gather the items and work to identify them, Selina seeks a way to bury the dead with dignity.

Simon replies, "In this world many people write down their passwords so they don't forget. Especially if the password is new or is an unfamiliar word. Or it's etched on the wand itself in arcane writing.  Not always, but sometimes.  And the likelihood that any of these items are cursed is unlikely because presumably they were all worn before their untimely demise."

When Ning flies up to examine the wall he finds the walls have different types of gems embedded into the stone.  Most would take time to chip them out of the stone, but some may be able to be removed with very little effort.

Betimi starts to examine the wands for clues to their command words. Before she tests any she will ask Ning/Nang to use the 'anti-Torque' wand on her

Ningalu will call down to the others.

"Some of these gems will come loose, we gonna gather them, please keep watch."

He will start to use his pick to chip gems off the wall into his backpack.

When Ning mentions that some of the Gems might be able to be easily removed, he thinks to himself how curious it is and decides to flash his detect magic along the walls.  Suddenly, many of the gems begin to glow with magic.  Some register surpringly strong magic while others, barely a whisper.

"Be careful, Ning," Simon warns.  "Some of these are magical."

Knowledge Arcana: [1d20+15] = 6+15 = 21

His eyes slowly scan the entire cave and suddenly realizes that there's more to these gems than he first thought.  "Whoa..." Simon whispers as he adjusts his dark spectacles.  "It's a web of ley lines emanating from the gems.  It's beautiful...  I wonder who built this..."

Meanwhile:

Betimi is examining the wands for any clue to their passwords.  Some spellcasters would cleverly carve arcane writing or special codes that require a cipher into their wands and disguise them as beautiful designs.

She learns:  [I'm assuming you're taking 20 on your spot checks.]
  • The ornately carved stick most distinguishing feature is it has a arrow or crossbow bolt carved near the tip of the shaft.
  • The enchantment wand is made from Ash wood and has a fairly plain look except for the tip which is encrusted with diamond dust.
  • The Illusion wand is made from Cycad Wood the handle seems to be wrapped in some kind gnarled leather with 3 bits of bone protruding from underneath which fit snuggly between the fingers, providing a firmer grip. There's one additional bone on the opposite side of the handle, situated near the top of the grip.
  • The Divination wand is made from Larch wood.  It has a small crystal ball embedded in the tip.  Only with close scrutiny does the fanciful filigree clutching the crystal ball to the of the wand reshape itself until it forms the word, COGNOSCO!  Blink and it returns to a normal vine pattern.
  • The Conjuration wand is made from Rosewood with Chamomile flower embedded around the shaft.  It smells of ginger.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
