FYI: I've posted rules on using flour to tag invisible creatures in the Game Rules section. I've also posted them here for convenience.] Quote:Initiatives and Damage Updates: When Selina strode across the deck to meet the Invisible stalker in combat, her little doggo scurries after her. During her swordplay the dog growls menacingly at the Stalker from behind one of the priest's legs. Betimi decides then to take her shot and luckily scores a hit! The Stalker howls with rage. It bellows says something in some strange language that gets lost in the gusts of wind rushing around everyone. The remaining guards charge after Selina. Only one of the Guards (5) that reaches the creature can attack and while his attack appeared impressive the monster's invisibly foils his attempt. [Elementals can't be critically hit anyways] One of the remaining guards decides to stay back to administer first aid to his Sergeant, and fails horribly [Rolled a 1] the others take up positions around the creature. [Double moves] Nacesh must wait to use his wand of magic missiles until he can see something to target. [M.M. can't be used to target anything with total cover or concealment.] So he delays... Round 7
The Stalker takes Selina up on her challenge and attacks her. The first attack comes down on Selina like bag of hammers. [Critical and Confirmed! ] She feels her legs nearly give out but once again something absorbs much of the damage. [Instead of 21 damage, Selina takes 9 damage!] Selina can vaguely see that the Stalker is shocked. It growls loudly and comes down with another blow but this time Selina feels its fist smash into her shoulder full force. [8 damage.] The Mephits continue their assault. Mephit8 moves around behind the ship and gleefully breathes [6 damage] on the dying Sergeant (1); Guard4; and Tomeal. [ALL FAIL! ] Mephit2 swings around and breaths on Simon; Guard4; Kee; and the Captain. [All take 1pt of damage] [Minimum damage] Forge runs over and attacks Mephit8. He hacks through the Imp's Damage reduction, inflicting major damage. [11pts after DR] The Imp wails in pain. Cursing, " Owwwww! I shouldn't have flew in so close!!" Kee uses a move action to reach down to the lower level and cures Ning. [9pts returned] [Burns Shield of Faith] [Ning is at full health] Tomeal takes a chance and fires a bolt into melee. The bolt easily avoids Forge and slams into Mephit8. The Imp screams, "Whyyyyyy Meeeeeeee...." as it falls out of the sky! [Rolled 27; Firing into melee -4 =23; Hit!; Damage 7] Simon then launches a small bottle at the Stalker. Selina sees the bottle hit the creature right between it's glowing eyes. **BOOM** The explosion rocks the creature as the rest of you shield your eyes from the pyrotechnics. [True Strike+20 to hit. Ignore miss chances. [Attack: 45; Damage: 22] [The Creature was also 5' in the air and the creature is 10' so the explosion happened 15' above everyone's heads so they avoid the 5' radius splash damage.] Simon fist pumps and yells, "YESS!!!" Nang delays... Ning hits the creature with the bag of flour, covering it with a fine powder. [Miss chances are now down to 20%] Nacesh unleashes his Magic Missiles!! Pop! Pop! Pop! [11pts total] Now everyone else goes!!! If you haven't attacked the Stalker yet, after Selina did 'Leading the Attack,' then you still get the +4 morale bonus and +1 for Dark Knowledge. If you have then you get +1 Morale bonus from Bless and +1 bonus for Dark Knowledge. You only get bonus from 'Leading the Attack' once.

Betimi clambers up the stairs and moves to F9, launching a shard at Mephit2, missing completely.

[[Not taking her turn yet, but she's seriously curious about this new effect. Steely Resolve would have only taken 5 damage and she'll still have to deal with it. This occurs whenever is convenient.]]
Know. Arcana: [1d20] = 16

[OoC: Well, Nacesh just used his wand of Magic Missiles. So that means the Captain and some guards can go. Then Selina and Betimi and more guards can go.]
Quote:Initiatives and Damage Updates: While the Captain continues to guide the ship through the mountain peeks, five of the guards carefully move toward the creature. Only 3 of the guards move close enough to engage in Melee. The first Guard6 attacks and with the help of the flour, he strikes it! The creature howls in anger. [5 damage; Miss chance: succeeded] The next Guard8 hacks into the creature! [Damage 7; Miss chance: Succeeded]; The last Guard10 swings for the creature but the creature's concealment foils his attack. [It's about time! Miss chance: 12] The guard curses his luck. Now it's Selina's and Betimi's turns... Remember the +2 to hit for Bless and Dark Knowledge.

Selina sneers as she stares the formless puff of air down, looking around at the large group of allies surrounding it. Yes, it was now airborne and could very likely escape if this did not work properly, but she had to give it a chance. Bringing her sword up into a ready position, she stabs out at the Stalker with a vicious cry channeling all the anger and pain she has just experienced into her strike.
Vanguard Strike: As part of this maneuver, you make a melee attack against an opponent you threaten. If this attack hits, all your allies gain a +4 bonus on ranged and melee attacks against that target until the start of your next turn. (Bonus seems to be untyped) Attack: [1d20+6] = 11+6 = 17; Damage: [2d6+2] = 6+2 = 8; Miss 1-20: [1d100] = 43(Passed) [[Result on hit: 8 damage to Stalker and all allies gain +4 to melee and ranged attacks against Stalker.]]

[OoC: Selina doesn't need to roll a miss chance. She can see invisible. The miss chance is only because the other can't see anything other than a puff of flour floating around. Betimi however still need to roll against the Mephit's blur.... But I will roll for her.]
[OoC2: Is it only me or is Selina's avatar missing? ] Selina sinks her great sword into the Stalker. The creature bellows in pain and suddenly bursts into nothingness. With nothing to cling to the flour blows away before it touches the ground. Betimi then fires another scarab at the mephit. She manages to shoot past the guard, easily avoiding him and strike the creature! It screams, "Not agaaaaaainnn!" And falls out of view. [Miss chance: succeeded] [And they're all dead!! YAY!!! Return to normal posting.] The guards cheer for the win but then quickly begin to assess their losses. It appears two guards died, including the Sergeant and the rest are very beaten up. A round later five more guards arrive looking disheveled. One apologizes for taking so long to get their armor on after assisting with the second wave to gear up. |
