[IC] Medical Bay (Dez Synn + Zero)
#61
When Zero blasts the guard in the face, the droid's optical sensor dilates then narrows to view the unconscious man.  The droid beeps something in binary that sounds a lot like, 'Craaaap!'

Suddenly noticing Dez running off, Zero grabs a few med kits and then flies off to lead her the safest way to leave the base.

[OoC: A reminder that Zero flies at a speed of 12 squares.]

Zero snatches a case of 5 additional medpacs from the supplies of the med-bay. He then swoops up beside Dez in a single move action, and with a swift action he remotely opens the med-bay door with his comm-link signal.  (This is HIS med-bay afterall)

The room beyond is familiar to Zero. Central to the room is an elevator tube that ascends up into the station, as well as down to even lower levels, designed to make the med-bay easily reached in an emergency, from any level in the base.

The elevator platform is not here, it must be on another level at the moment. From what Zero understood from the base security feeds, the normal docking facility is currently in hard vacuum, and being resealed, which will take time, especially since it sounds like there has been damage from a ship blasting its way out.    That leaves the mayor's private docking bay, one that few basers even know about.  It is actually on this level, but through a usually heavily guarded area. Beyond the door to the left.

The door across the way from the med-bay, 'North' Zero knows leads to the bases water treatment plant. The door to the left however.. leads directly to the bases shielded nuclear power plant. Thankfully the shields are there, otherwise even just here in the med-bay everyone would be getting a lethal dose of radiation. it would not bother Zero, aside from causing some electromagnetic interference, but biologicals do not fare well in that kind of radiation.

Left is however the shortest way to get to that docking bay, and at this point going the long way around likely means missing the Imperial shuttle.

Dez looks at the floating droid.

"Well? Which way? Up, or one of the doors?"

[OoC: Can Zero call the elevator to their level?  What does he know is on the levels above and below?]

Zero beeps in binary, "This way!"

The droid then leads Dez to the left.

He wasn't sure why he was leading a woman he didn't know out of the base.  Perhaps he felt like it would be a waste to save her from the guards, only to have her be captured again or die in the base.

Zero can access the elevator controls the same as anyone else, or via Scomp link if he chooses. the elevator controls are not linked to comms.

He knows that the levels abvove are first two levels of residential/commercial tunnels, then the commercial /industrial level .. near tehg cantina, on the same level as the main docking facility. The level above that is luxury apartments and administration, where Holon Veil has his quarters.

He buzzes in binary for Dez to join Zero around the corner [CA/55] to avoid any blasters from any trigger happy guards.  Zero then attempts to remotely open the door to the left.

Zero and Dez peek around the corner as the door slides open.

The fist thing they see is the back of a guard who is crouched in a defensive position, blaster raised and ready. He is not looking at them at all, his attention is focussed on something away from them.

Beyond him is a massive chamber, with several guards patrolling the edge of a gigantic hole.  There is a floating platform in the center of the hole, about 20' lower than the floor of the rim of the pit, where technicians in some sort of environmental suits work on some sort of equipment.  Beneath the platform, the pit crackles with energy. Some sort of controlled reaction is sending a beam of energy up into the bottom of the platform, or maybe the platform is firing a beam of energy into the pit, it is hard to tell.

Zero knows this to be the reactor that powers the station. The pit is shielded, so the rim is safe, but inside the shield the radiation is intense.

There are another two guards across the room, adjacent to the doors that lead to the tunnels that in turn lead to to landing platform delta, Holon's secet, personal landing pad. Secret that is from the regular base inhabitants, but not to anyone that knows the ins and outs of base security.

Zero whispers to Dez, "Judging by your abundant physical attributes, I suspect you are far more skilled than I at persuasion.  Perhaps we can convince the guards, you are escorting me, the bases physician, to Holon's personal shuttle pad.  I can of course back you up [aid other].  Or do you prefer the more direct approach.  If so, I must remind you that I will only shoot to stun.  Not to kill."

"Good idea, let's try this without a blaster battle by the reactor."

She steps out from around the corner, trying to exude the proper attitude.

"Visually satisfactory.  However you need to exude an aura of pathetic incompetence.  A certain hopelessness where you realize you are nothing more than a meat shield who will likely die a horrible, lonely, death; a complete disappointment to your family."
"Come on droid, you are needed at the landing pad." she announces as she walks towards the chamber.

The droid obediently follows Dez.  "Right away, sir."

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
