[IC] New Crobuzon & the World Beyond
"Win or lose for us... What about Kee's comrades in the Resistance?"

"I'm not saying he wanted to kill us but he probably could as you suggested, anytime. He just has a better idea... for now. One bad move and we may tilt this fragile equilibrium. I would like to stay on the 'keep living' pan of this balance as long as we are stranded here."

OoC - Sorry but I was a little bit overwhelmed in my RL.

Kee just played with Chris and enjoy their reunion while the big folks discussed about these big things. Kee clears her throat and tries to push the conversation forward:
- In a foreign country/world you must be trust in somebody because you are totally lost without the local people's help. As I know the magister just help us so I'm trusting in him but I keep my eyes open.

OoC - "Trust in God and keep your powder dry."

"Am I forced to call this matter to a vote?  We must leave this place.  If for no other reason than the longer we remain, the more we threaten innocent, unknowing lives.  This government is repressive in the extreme and our mere presence is a danger to several lives.  In addition, the Magistrate was practically bending over backwards to get us to leave.  I say we take this opportunity and call him out on it."  Selina continues to pet the wolfhound as she says this.  It seems to have the desired calming effect on her.

"Do we approach the Magistrate tonight, or on the morrow?"

Simon looks back and forth when each of you speak and when Betimi asks her question he jumps into the conversation.  "How you approach contacting the Magistrate is completely up to you.  But if you would allow me to offer some advice?  With the exception of the humans, it is highly unlikely that anyone has seen your kind in this city.  Even some of the you humans have interesting traits that may draw attention." Simon motions to Selina's amber eyes.  "So even just walking around minding your own business will still likely draw attention to yourselves.  And if I'm not mistaken you are trying to be discreet.  Right?  Right?  So perhaps a messenger would make more sense?  We have many ways to communicate over long distances with one another.  In fact we have a Thaumaturgy specialist profession that deals with just such communication called a Communicatrix.  However their predilection for spying for the government is probably not what you would want to get yourselves tangled up with.  So nixing the arcane for something a little more mundane, we also have the Wyrmen.  I'm sure you've seen the little red devils flying about the city.  As long as they stay focused they are excellent messengers.  They are a stupid but genial race.  Their ambitions don't extend much past their next meal or when they can present their next fart joke.  So if you have sensitive information you don't have to worry about them scheming or backstabbing you for a competitor."

Both the Dog and the Cheetah will happily accept the attentions of their masters.

Nacesh plops to a chair trying to get as far to the perimeter of this conversation as possible. He's more like the observant than the controlling type when it comes to politics, framing, and schemes. He's already spoken way more than his usual share, to no apparent avail.
Whatever, just get our butts out of here, he thought.

"Simon, sir? Do you happen to have some parchment and ink we might use. I think this might work better in writing, especially if it is written in Selina's hand, with her mark."

She looks at Selina. "I mean no offence, but the Magistrate seemed especially.. well interested, in you.I was unsure whether he thought of you in a paternal way or as good mating stock, perhaps both. I've found you humans sometimes confuse the two instincts, oddly."

OOC - LOL Smile I get it that it comes from role... hilarious Smile

Nacesh would roll his eyes if he wouldn't deem it even more blatant than Betimi's (otherwise spot-on) suggestion but decides to make an attempt to calm the oncoming waves instead.
"More like her homeplace than her person, I would wager. And yours, for that matter," he adds, indicating how Betimi once expressed that her home world is way more sinister than this infernal pact-ridden place.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
