OoC thread
I think he adopted you around the bear encounter.  That's when a bear wandered into the camp and you guys decided to scare him off rather than kill him.  I've mention the dog here and there in the beginning but haven't said much about him since entering the Tunnels.  Dogs generally don't gain hit dice unless they're an animal companion.  I'm assuming you don't want to switch to being a Druid so the only other way to make a dog better is through templates.  Most templates like Dire Dog or Horrid Dog are added when a dog is born through.  Confused  He has been staying behind so I haven't had to worry about combat but if you guys suddenly get magically transported then it will be more difficult to have him follow.

I could be fun using the Dog as a plot device.  Now that Forge will be joining soon there will be no need for me to NPC Tomeal so the Dog could be a way to provide hints like I tried with Mil and the crates to help move the plot along.  But I do have some ideas for the Dog but I obviously can't talk about them here.   Smile

Deepwood sniper, poison use and x4 crit with a bow. Your DM will hate you. But it's a 3.0 class :p

Or he simply sends undead and other horrors immune to crits/poisons and have DR 10/blunt.
As a DM I had such a challenge once. I was afraid that one of the players (impossible to hit plus damage reduction) won't simply ruin the game for the whole party but eventually will get bored due to lack of true challenges and leave for good. I had a hard time bringing up something that he couldn't beat alone but the party as a whole could...

Are you kidding? Dogs are ALWAYS useful! Even if you don't train them as a wardog, they can be very easily trained to guard and bark when they notice someone or something wrong. They also have great senses of relational intelligence. They can read a human's face and recognize emotions really well.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
