This room use to be the Parlor but it has now been converted into the student lounge.  

The Student Lounge is a comfortable area open to students for gathering, studying, and relaxing between classes. The Lounge is equipped with comfortable furniture, TV's, pool table, video game consoles and a magazine swap table.

The Lounge also hosts student events such as open stage, live entertainment, video game tournaments, and other departmental events. Please be considerate when events are in the Lounge.

Student Lounge Expectations

Ø  Be respectful of others and the Lounge

Ø  Comply with Student Lounge Staff’s instructions and requests

Ø  Please be courteous during events: recreational activities are prohibited, such as ping pong, video games, loud music, and loud conversations as it may be disruptive to the event

Ø  Clean up after yourself

Ø  Students are responsible for their own personal items

Ø  Do not tamper with the displayed artwork

Ø  Must comply with campus Student Conduct Code

Ø  Furniture must be utilized appropriately

Ø  If furniture is moved the furniture must be LIFTED and not dragged across the floor

Ø  Return furniture to their original position when not in use

Ø  Do not place your feet, shoes or slippers on any furniture, tables and/or chairs

Ø  Electronic cigarettes are prohibited inside the Student Lounge and must be used at the Designated Smoking Areas (DSA)

Ø  Student Lounge Staff Desk must remain in its location at all times

 Student Lounge will close due to inappropriate behavior and conduct of the student(s) as determined by the Student Life Staff.

~ANNOUNCEMENT BOARD~ 

We have recently had some troubles with campus computers.  We ask whomever is constantly breaching our Shi'ar enhanced security systems without prior authorizations to please refrain from from doing so as the blending of terrain and alien technology does not react well to robust mutant tampering.  

While attempting to move data to a new archive we had an issue with the transferal.  The data was corrupted and we have permanently lost some student information.  We ask each student to completely answer the following questions so we may again update your files.

[OoC: Many of you have already done most of this but when you have time can you please take a moment to complete and update your character's physical descriptions, history, jobs (if any), etc.  Some of you who have been playing for awhile may now have a clearer vision of your character and may want to alter some of your statistics.  This is fine as long as it's not too drastic of a change.  No sudden gender changes unless your character has roleplayed wanting to transition.  Which no one has so...  [emoji14]  Also include a Birth date (Month and Day) because they are usually important milestones for your characters.  Keep in mind that in the game it is almost December so any December babies will have to update their birthdays soon.

RE the game's current year:  Originally I was thinking the current in game year was 2007 and dated Thanksgiving for November 26 because it's that date in 2007.  But seeing as we are almost in 2017, I've decided to update the current year to 2015 (Thankgiving was Nov 26 in 2015 too.   ).  So if you want to give your character a birth year you can but down the road I may update the current year again so we don't get too far behind the real world.]

[FYI: When determining what job your character might have, in most cases just saying they have an allowance is sufficient.  The professor provides for most of your school needs so no matter what your resourses you will have everything a modern teenager would have for school, such as a laptop and cell phone.  If for some reason your history would not allow for your family to send you money then keep the following in mind when choosing where you get your money.

Poor Resources: Student, a good part time job, Lower middle Class, Large allowance [Spiderman-as freelance Photographer.]
Typical Resources: Salaried employment, Middle Class, Huge allowance [Iceman-accountant]

Excellent Resources: inheritance, Upper Class, small business. 
Remarkable Resources: Large Business, Upper Upper Class, Established Trust Fund [500k-999k]

I had to update the Judges books ratings because in the 80's there just weren't as many billionaires as there are now.  For example, Professor X use to have Rm resources which wasn't even a millionaire but now he has 3.5billion and Stark international had In resources which is just a millionaire when he actually has 80billion!  There wouldn't even be room for someone like Black Panther with his 500 billion!]

The change in years is gonna have an impact on my backstory. as the events of 9/11 triggering his parents arrest would make Nalcolm luike 22 years old. i will just have to look through some news clippings for events that happened in 2008/2009 that would trigger the same sort of paranoia.

This is why marvel doesn't mention the current year. Most of the xmen were around during 9/11 but they haven't aged 16 years since then so I wouldn't worry too much about altering specific events. In marvel 9/11 is something terrible that happened but the date is more important than the year.
