OOC3 - @DM: How much time is left until dawn? When Torin could referesh his memorization.
ooc5 - How can prevent that Merri will became to an undead (without divine magic)
1. Correct, Torin was more than a bit behind. With those rounds of concentration he's now in the present.
2. That is, unless a stronger aura suppresses the cl1 wondrous item Smile as for the quote on invi, it was unnecessarily long and I'll comment when my ISP returns to normal ops...
3. No way Torin would know, he's not from this plane of existence.
5. Why without divine magic? Consecrate is a proper lv2 for spell...
3. OK, but I think Torin will fell that he "must" praying for his spells "at now".
5. Goto 3 (at now Torin doesn't have prepared spells for this task).

3. Well Torin doesn't feel like praying for spells right now.

5. So you are thinking about a different way of preserving the body. Some undead can be repelled by blessed items or other specifics but not all. First and foremost you should find out what kind of undead to devise a plan.

Toot would likely have a pretty good idea of what time it is since he was outside not too long ago.  Also with 5 ranks of survival you know which way is true north. Then Toot could send earth elementals up to tell him where the orbs or jewel above the earth are located

Sure Toot knows... Torin has a jetlag as well since changing planes of existence doesn't preserve time of day and even the length of the day may be different. Coincidentally, it's 24h in all the players' respective worlds.

Sorry, the reason I mentioned Toot knowing what time of day/night it is is because Torin could just ask someone.  It would be easier then waiting around until he 'feels' like it's time to pray.

About Toot's plan. Can we discuss the technicalities OOC? Not sure what exactly you are up to (like, elementals moving earth; soften earth & stone and stuff) but I, as a DM, hope you can make up for the volume necessary since this is the best plan I've ever heard related to this encounter. As a reminder: you gain full XP for defeating the encounter and there's a story bonus on that as well; more on that later.
- the armory is 30' diameter so you need a 20' diameter pit and a 5' ledge to keep the guardian down and yourselves safe.
- the guardian is about 12 feet high so has a vertical reach of 15-20 feet so even a 15 feet depth is quite the minimum.
- a pit 20' diameter (10' radius) and 15' deep is 4712 cubic feet
- quarter that (10' diameter) if you don't want to trap the guardian for an extended period of time (it will climb out without too much difficulty)
I assume you don't have to move that much stuff; just do some undermining and then weaken the floor.
There's one catch though. None of the characters (PC or NPC) can tell what the floor is made of, let alone what is underneath.

If no one knows what the floor is made of then perhaps Toot can create some earth elementals to scout the area so they can discover what kind of ground it's made from.

Do we know the size of the antimagic field?

Those Thoqqua are awesome little creatures.  They can burrow though rock at 20' per round.  Have them do a double move and throw on a haste spell (if we have one) and they can burn though rock at 60' a round.  I figured the Thoqqua would start deep under the area we want to cave in and then start drilling in a spiral pattern upward until the ground finally gives out.  I could then even toss in a soften earth and stone to make the thing sink deeper into the dirt.  I can effect 10' square/level.

Another thing I was wondering,  I have not read anything on this creature or even if the other players encountered it but is it even programmed to climb?  If it's orders are to simply attack whomever comes close, it may be too stupid to know to climb out of a hole without being told what to do.  Adamantine is also pretty heavy.  Is it strong enough to lift it's own weight.  Is the ground strong enough to hold it's weight while it's trying to lift itself up.

A word on the programming of constructs. Nobody programs a construct to dodge if attacked or take a five-foot step if needed but there are probably no questions about that, right? So if fulfilling their "program" requires climbing or jumping *AND* if the construct is capable of doing so, given the circumstances, why wouldn't it do what's needed to, e.g., "destroy all intruders" (note: this is just an example of a "program"; I won't say if this particular construct is programmed to this or anything else)
But let's get back to fantasy and try to use the terms "instructed" or "commanded" instead of "programmed" which sounds like CP Smile

@SG:
1. Please quote where said Torin that, he is a cleric.
2. SG see 4 identical gnome at now (Portho's Mirror Image). If Torin spell is bother SG then why doesn't bother Potho's spell him? Or00 the player missed this?
3. I think a divine casting is performed in much different way than an arcane magic (e.g.: you can perform a divine spell in full plate). Of course the effect is "almost same" if the spell name is same.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
