Missing Caravan
Selina looks ahead to Jonath and nods, then makes her way that way as softly as she can manage in metal armor (>.<). She wasn't bunching up closer to him, just shortening the distance she'd have to run to support him if it was needed.

if Betimi can see Jonath she nods her assent, but as they move forward she continues to advance slowly, keeping a crystal to hand and wlking almost sideways she spends so much time looking backward.

Noting that his companions have seen his signal and are closing ranks, Jonath continues forward, straining to make out the source of the sounds. His eyes remain ever alert, darting around between walls, floor and ceiling, knowing that danger can (and likely will) come from the most unexpected of directions, given their past experience with their enemy.

Nacesh recounts his assets. If only he could see better in these light conditions-- but no, there's nothing he could do to improve his sight at the moment. So he follows, in hopes of getting a decent shot before it's too late.

Gilley follows along, silently keeping an eye behind them. This would be the perfect setup to come around from behind.

Jonath carefully moves in the direction of the bridge.  He manages to move about 10' before everyone begins feeling the air becoming extremely thick.  Breathing becomes difficult like something is sitting upon your chests slowly squeezing the life out of you.  Then your ears are assaulted with the sounds of a growing chorus of voices, beeps, laughter, crying and rage.  All mixed together in a cacophonous roar of mind numbing sound, none of which can you decipher.  You try to figure out where it's coming from but it seems to be emanating from all around you in relentless waves that force you to cover your ears while pulling you to your knees.  Then the earth begins shaking causing debris to fall from the ceiling.  Mostly dust and small pebbles falls upon where you're standing but you are sure other areas in the caves wasn't so lucky.  Suddenly the roar and pressure stops and the shaking subsides leaving you all coughing and gasping to get oxygen from the dust filled air.  Close by you all can hear faint cries of pain but for the moment the dust is too thick to see through.

Nacesh thinks twice before believing the apparent. Since she used illusion before he suspects some phantasm this time.
Spellcraft to identify suspected phantasm [1d20+6] = 14+6 = 20
If Nacesh needs a Will save I prefer if you roll for me Smile

If so, he calls out to Jonath (and others),
"Don't let her fool you! It's just a phantasm!

[OoC:  This doesn't appear to be a spell effect.  It looks very real to you.  You know that the Spider would need to be quite the powerful illusionist to create a phantasm of this size.  It hasn't shown power of this magnitude.  The first illusion you saw where Kobolds were hanging from the ceiling was soundless so it was probably just a Silent Image.]

Betimi coughs and holds a corner of her cloak over her mouth and nose, knowing cave dust can be toxic.

"It was a cave-in, but the cacophonu of voices tells me that it wasn't started naturally."

Selina drops to a knee, clutching her ears at the sound, the cave shuddering and dancing in her vision, leaving her coughing in the dust and pressure wave. "It might have been sonic magic that triggered the cave-in. In any case, I think we are running out of time." Selina breathes heavily, adversely affected by her heavier armor in this situation, but moves closer to Jonath, giving him even more cover if possible.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
