RE: A Gallery of Heroes and Vilians - Rupert Gladestone - 11-26-2020 Rupert Gladstone DESCRIPTION: Giff Fighter 1 / Monk 1 Level: 2 Alignment: LN AC 15 HP 17 Speed 30'ft Prof. Bon: +2 Str 17 (3) Dex 14 (2) Con 12 (1) Wis 17 (3) Int 10 (0) Cha 9 (-1) Proficient Skills: ATTACKS, RACIAL & CLASS ABILITIES, & FEATS: Background: RE: A Gallery of Heroes and Vilians - Melville - 11-26-2020 Description Melville is an average looking dohwar, with the typical black back feathers and white belly of his kind. Unlike many other dohwar, he has the crest-feathers marking him of the Chrysoco Cartel. His eyes are a dark orange-red colour. He is fond of garish clothing, but has found as an arms merchant dealing often with the Elven Imperial Navy, they often respond best when he dons military garb. As such he often wears a blue frock coat with gold buttons. He always has a small brass locket, which contains a painting of his beloved. Background Melville is fortunate enougfh to have once lived on the dohwar homeworld of Foresti (https://www.thepiazza.org.uk/bb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7117&sid=e4e24cbefb0dd8db78536bb5d0e8d9e0) Though his cartel is not one of the big four. Melville is a Salesman of the Chrysoco Cartel, out on his own for the first time. He spent his first few years as an adult serving as an apprentice aboard a dohwar uspo, the Blizzard, learning the trade of both the the deal, and of being a navigator. His skills with the wizardly arts have marked him out as early management material, and the executive board has sent him on a mission of emissary to develop a trading agreement with the lucrative clients of the Elven Imperial Navy. To this end they had him book passage on a Sindiath Line vessel, the Amaranthine, in return for working a tour as a navigator and backup helmsman. He spent as much of his free time on that tour of service learning the nuances of the Elvish language, and was hoping to make a potential contact with the captain of that vessel with the hopes of then getting an inroad into the IEN navy itself. The captain never really warmed to him despite his best efforts, rebuffing his constant attempts at negotiation. He has tried everything he could, but the more insistent he became, the more the captain resisted his efforts. He even tried, after reading those thoughts of annoyance, to try just being quiet and not bothering the captain for a week. A full week! He sensed the captains annoyance ebbing, so decided to broach teh subject again. That was a mistake, instantly the captain's annoyance returned and the captain made a decision to terminate his contract. He has been put ashore in Bral, a dismal failure, having not procured the hoped for IEN supply contract. He needs to prove himself a successful merchant, either winning a lucrative trade agreement that rivals the hoped for deal, or find other success, else he will never make Manager. If he cannot make manager and prove himself successful, how can he ever enter a successful merger with his beloved Nataya, his fledgling sweetheart? RE: A Gallery of Heroes and Vilians - GM Anthraxus - 11-29-2020 I love Melville's backstory. That is so dohwar funny. RE: A Gallery of Heroes and Vilians - Bazzalan Horngrin - 12-01-2020 Character Sheet Appearance: Bazzalan is a tanned colored Satyr with very handsome features, charming smile, pearly white teeth, and exceptionally thin frame. He has bright violet eyes and long brown hair which is braided into dreadlocks then pulled back around his curved horns and over his pointed sylan ears. At 5'8" he's slightly taller than the average Satyr. He quite often will decorate his horns with whatever's most suitable for the current celebration. Personality: Bazzalan is charismatic and his mirthful energy infectious. He's always looking for new friends and companionship. though after a recent tragedy he has become much more uncomfortable taking people at their word. Most often he would prefer to talk his way out of a problem than fight. He likes to be called Bazz or Bazzal with loved ones. Bazzalan also has a strange obsession with climbing. History: Bazzalan had a whirlwind romance with a beautiful young lady he met at a raucous party he was throwing. They were due to be married merely a week after they first met which is a very long courtship for a Satyr so Bazz knew it was true love. At the same time Bazz was involved with some shady people who said they had a deal of a lifetime. He been told not to trust them but he was young and naive so he ignored the warnings. At the last moment his love convinced him to back out of the deal. When Bazz told his friend, Mr. Horns (he's a minotaur), he had to honor his bride-to-be, Mr. Horns suddenly became very angry and threatened to do unspeakable things to the young Satyr. Shocked that his friendship suddenly took a turn for the worse, Bazz found himself in the fight of his life! He only just escaped Mr. Horns, horns, but was still badly wounded from a dagger-like horn that Mr. Horn's minions uses as their symbol that they imbedded in his shoulder! Soon afterward Bazz found out his fiance fell from a building and the authorities deemed it an accident. Bazzlan knew that was impossible because she was deathly afraid of heights! There was no way she would willingly climb to the roof of any building! So he put his investigative skills to work and came to the conclusion that his former 'friend' had her killed for talking him out of finishing the deal. He went to the authorities but they did nothing. Bazz suspected that likely he had paid off them off to just look the other way. One drunken night, Bazz left a bar where he was drowning his sorrows at a raucous party he had thrown (each night for the last 2 weeks). He heard a scream from a back alley. When he investigated he saw a woman lying dead on the ground and someone fleeing. Bazzalan tried to help her but there was nothing he could do. He was no medic and there was just too much blood. While he waited for the authorities to arrive a devious idea took root in his mind. He would tell the authorities he saw a minotaur fitting Horn's description running away from the crime scene. Bazz even planted his old friend's horned dagger at the scene so Mr. Horns would look even more guilty. Using his verbal talents with deception and the dagger, Bazz pinned the murder on Mr. Horns and the minotaur has rotted in prison ever since! Good riddance! Since then, Bazzalan has traveled from port to port offering his talents in entertainment and negotiation. He recently arrived at the Rock, looking for some work. RE: A Gallery of Heroes and Vilians - GM Anthraxus - 12-01-2020 Looks good. I like the built in personal enemy. Perhaps Bazz and Melville will find a connection on lost loves. Is Chernobog (on your sheet) Mr. Horn's first name, or someone else? RE: A Gallery of Heroes and Vilians - Bazzalan Horngrin - 12-01-2020 (12-01-2020, 09:32 PM)GM Anthraxus Wrote: Looks good. Yes, Chernobog is the 'old friend.' I've added 'Mr. Horns' beside his name. I was looking for a mafia type nickname like Knuckles or Nosey Malone. If someone can think of something better for a minotaur let me know. RE: A Gallery of Heroes and Vilians - GM Anthraxus - 12-01-2020 Personally, I love the idea of a Minotaur Mafioso called Mr. Horns. RE: A Gallery of Heroes and Vilians - Olaf Svenson - 12-02-2020 Horny Bob is always a good mob nickname for a minotaur RE: A Gallery of Heroes and Vilians - Rupert Gladestone - 12-02-2020 Though it should only be used behind his back, or you will have to kiss the ring!
