Once seeing the forutnate of fortunes, Mardak takes his hat off and says enthusiastically "Well I'll be a fleas TIT!! Would you look at all this loot!!"
A few thoughts comes to his mind "That can buy me a whole crap ton of sweets!!" He looks around at the others "Let's divvy it all up, see what we get!!"

"Sir Jonath has a point", Betimi says smiling behind her veil at Mardak's enthusiasm. "We have portraits of the potential owners of this treasure. They may still be alive. If we are able to rescue people of such obvious means that they would carry this sort of treasure withthem, then perhaps we might gain more favour from them by returning this to them when we rescue them."
She shrugs.
[b]"And if they turn out to be beyond caring about such worldly things, then we can divide these spoils up after we pay for our charter"[//b]

"WHAAAaaAAAAT??" He spins and looks at her then to Jonath. On the verge of exploding, he just forcefully murmurs and curses under his breath.

After pacing back and forth, which is rocking the boat but Mardak doesn't care. Mardak steps close to Betimis' veiled face and starts wagging his finger slowly while giving her a stink eye while being flustered not knowing what to say.
"Confound it all, y'all gone bat-shit crazy!" He huffs, then sits on one of the wet benches. "Cause ya gods damned be makin' sense!!"

Betimi chortles with amusement. leans over the edge of the boat and tilts Mardak's hat back so she can clearly see his eyes.
She leans closer and her lips brush his forehead through he fabric of her veil, before she whispers.
"Thank you Mardak."
Then she straightens and tugs his hat right down over his eyes with a laugh.
"Now let's get moving, as sir Jonath said."
She walks over to Beast and gathers up his lead rope and waits for the others to sort themselves out.
"Selina, is your charge okay to travel?"

Mardak shakes the 'almost kissed' dizzyness away and gets to heaving the box. Jury-rigs a few pieces of wood to slide the treasure and him down. Once wrangling it over to a pony, he sets the treasure on the back of Marmalade, mummifying the box of loot in hemp rope.
Wringing out his hat with a shiver Mardak adds "Everyones' shit together?! Alright, we're going that way!!!"

Betimi patiently waits while Selina checks the injured guard.
"if need be he could ride one of the mules, Beast will promise not to eat him... won't you," she says to her stubborn companion.

She tugs Beast's ear gently and giggles when he half-heartedly tries to nip at her.

Selina checks on the guard's injuries and nods. She had completely agreed with both jonath and betimi's assessment of the find, besides...
"We are in the business of performing 'jobs' for others, yes Mardak? Perhaps a family is missing their property and will provide a reward to whomever returns it. And yes, it should be safe for our new friend to travel with us. I will be monitoring in case the wounds reopen. But we are here to find information about a disappearance and I suggest we do so. The trail grows cold."
