RE: Reform School Mutants - GM Marvel - 03-20-2017 The 190 was for a group who joined my other game. You might want to read this thread because it could have some information. It's in this thread where I said the players in this group has 180pts to make a character. If you're looking for a Stealth power to cover up your movements, you could always pick... Stealth. It's on page 79 of the Ultimate Powers Book. It also works for more than just sound. If you want you could put a limitation on it so it only effects sound. There's another power on the Classic Marvel Superhero Website called nondetection. For either power you could limit it to be only on when you have your Invisibility active. I'm still thinking 40pts is very high for that kind of limitation. The fact you give me more control over your hair seems fun and is a possibility. My issue is, when you compare the Vocal command with something like, the power only works at night which the book says is Ex 20, it seems the "only works at night" is more severe. That's why I don't like using that table for CP's. RE: Reform School Mutants - Lillycat - 03-20-2017 Okay so replace sound manipulation with stealth, (non detection was poorly defined and seemed over powered.) And how much could I get for my limitation to control my hair? I mean its a real problem as i could be trying to hide in a base crawling with baddies and my hair decides to start attacking them without my orders not to or to try and steal a weapon ect. So If i were to command it They might hear me and thus start combat anyway. In effect I made it a much nastier limitation than was suggested and yes i agree they are only suggested . So can you give me a point break to work with for math? RE: Reform School Mutants - Lillycat - 03-21-2017 Rapunzel RE: Reform School Mutants - Aurum - 03-24-2017 You know what? I think I'll tap out of this, for now. Might join later, if that's an option, but I've got a lot going on right now. Have fun! You're allowed 180. 69 = Primary stats 10 = Resources (Typical 5x2 = 10) 61 = Prehensile Hair ( 10base+ 36rank + 15overpower = 61) 26 = Invisibility (10base + 16Rank = 26) 18 = Stealth (10base + 8rank = 18) 26 = Light Absorption (10base + Rank16 = 26) 10 = Contacts (2 x 5 = 10) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 220 Total 3) These things must be fixed before I can continue. RE: Reform School Mutants - Lillycat - 03-27-2017 How many points do I get off for my Disadvantage , Marvel. it should be worth at least a few. RE: Reform School Mutants - GM Marvel - 03-27-2017 I'm sorry. I forgot your disadvantage. I'm at work but if I have time I will figure it out tonight or tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G925W8 using Tapatalk RE: Reform School Mutants - GM Marvel - 03-29-2017 For a limitation to give 40 points it has to be a substantial limitation. For an example that's a little more tangible imagine a player could put those 40 points toward strength. In an adult game that would give them a Strength Incredible 40 allowing them to lift 10 tons or inflict 40 damage. All that just for having to talk to your hair which as a player I'm thinking, WOO HOO!! Gimme!! This is a student game so the Overpower cost does change that slightly but it's still a great deal. Like I said, the limitations listed in the book don't exactly translate to the point base system and were meant as a Maximum Rank the power could have, not to give the player that power rank. I'm not sure why they did it that way. Personally it seems a little silly to say you can't have more than an Incredible rank if you have to talk to use you power. In any case, I'm willing to allow the 40 points if you understand that with your hair doing its own thing it could do anything. It might tippy toe you out of your room at night to go "watch" TV. It might decide when fighting Magneto to pick you up and run you away from battle. It could be anything. I will be rolling randomly to decide if it listens to you or decides to do something else. If that's cool with you then we have a deal. RE: Reform School Mutants - Lillycat - 03-30-2017 That's cool and what I expected its a semi-uncontrollable power Later on she can buy it off or down as she "learns to control her hair." After all her hair "Has a mind of its own" Heck it might even form into different hair styles that are socially embarrassing, like a 6 foot wide afro LOL |
