5e Spelljammer game
Typically I play that everyone starts 1st level with max, and subsequent levels have a minimum gain of HD/2+1.  So for Melville he would have 6/2+1+2 = 5, so he should be up to 12 HP total, with 2 HD.

need to get more money lol need to get me some thieves picks and jewelry tools, I went with the standard starting gear rather than roll wealth because I did not want to try my luck especially when what i have is well above the average on a roll

I already have 8 hp.. max 1st level + con = 6+2
1/2 d6+1 = 4+con = 4+2 = 6  so don't you mean I would have 14?

Yeah. Forgot to apply your can bonus for lvl 1.
