Why not be a Druid/Magic User?  According to the Unearthed Arcana Errata Grey, High, Wood, and Valley Elves can be Druid/Magic Users.  I'm not sure why they didn't include Half-Elves on the chart but likely they could also be Druid/Magic Users as long as MiB is ok with it of course.

No, that's just how they had them grouped on the chart.  [emoji12]

Edited last post to avoid confusion.

Ok, was approved for a re roll, here we go...

http://www.unseenservant.com/default.asp...ts&pc=5680

Stat #1: [1d6r2] = 5, [1d6r2] = 6, [1d6r2] = 2, [1d6r2] = 4 =Strength 15
Stat #2: [1d6r2] = 2, [1d6r2] = 3, [1d6r2] = 4, [1d6r2] = 4 =Dexterity 11
Stat #3: [1d6r2] = 3, [1d6r2] = 4, [1d6r2] = 4, [1d6r2] = 5 =Constitution 13
Stat #4: [1d6r2] = 2, [1d6r2] = 3, [1d6r2] = 4, [1d6r2] = 4 =Intelligence 11
Stat #5: [1d6r2] = 2, [1d6r2] = 3, [1d6r2] = 3, [1d6r2] = 4 =Wisdom 10
Stat #6: [1d6r2] = 5, [1d6r2] = 6, [1d6r2] = 2, [1d6r2] = 2 =Charisma 13
Stat #7: [1d6r2] = 5, [1d6r2] = 6, [1d6r2] = 2, [1d6r2] = 3 =Reroll 14

EDIT: Stuck at a crossroad. Done the math, and don't qualify for a Druid/Mage multiclass. (Not one that gets an exp bonus)

Mixed now. Do we want a Level 5 almost 6 magic user, or a level 7 Druid?

It looks like you might have rolled better the first time so if given the choice you might want to stick with them.  I believe that DM MiB said that if you wanted to play something and you don't have the stats for it then he might allow a player to raise his highest rolls to meet the requirements for the class.  If you do play a druid the Errata now says they also get bonus spells for high wisdom just like clerics do.

A 7th level Druid would be nice but I'm not sure how much you would get to use your druid abilities (other then spells) in Ravenloft.  It is mostly a castle adventure.  A 5th level Magic User would give you 3rd level spells (fireball and lightning bolt) so that's nice.  Remember that Lightning Bolt reflects off solid objects in 1e so in the right circumstances it can do A LOT of damage.

DM MiB I'm not sure if you saw my post before my last post about being a Druid/Magic User.

GM Marvel Wrote:I have a question about multi-classed clerics and weapons.  In the players handbook PC elves weren't allow to be clerics.  But in the description for half-elves it says: "Half-elven characters who choose the cleric as one of their multi-classes aren't limited by that class' proscriptions upon weapons usable"  Then in the Half-Orc description it says: "When playing a multi-classed character, the half-orc must abide by the restrictions of the least favorable class with regard only to armor."

So my question is, are Elves limited to the cleric's weapons when multi-classing.  I've looked online for 1st edition and people seem to believe they aren't limited.  Also still curious about your ruling on specialization and multi-class.

But elves can't be clerics. If you mean half-elves, they can use whatever weapons are available to them from other classes. A half-elf single class cleric would still be limited, though. Fun tip: don't ever play a half-orc fighter/anything.

The adventure isn't all castle, but there is a fair amount of it. I'll leave the decision on druid up to you. It's hard to say how useful one may or may not be. If you don't meet the requirements, put your best rolls in those stats and raise them to the minimums. If it still doesn't look like a viable character, roll again.

Elves couldn't be clerics in the PHB but they can be clerics in the Unearthed Arcana. It's one of the things they changed. But they didn't mention if multi-classed Fighter/clerics can use any weapon. In the PHB, half elf and half orc Fighter/Clerics can use any weapon so I was just confirming Elf fighter/clerics can use any weapon too.

And what about Specialization for multi-classed characters?

Did DM MiB say to reroll in PM or was there a misunderstanding with what he said about raising stats?  His last posted mentioned raising (not rerolling) stats to meet the stat requirements of the class you wanted to play.

If he did say to reroll again then you can arrange your stats any way you choose.  As mentioned before he also said you can minus 2 from one stat and then add 1 point to another stat.  I'm assuming MiB doesn't want you to go crazy doing that to give yourself a bunch of 18's, (or maybe I'm wrong and he doesn't care but I would pass it by him first.)

Ok Marvel, I'll make you a deal. Let's swap our ability scores and see if you feel the same way.

A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
