[IC] New Crobuzon & the World Beyond
[[The elemental probably can’t do much damage anyway since it’s bludgeoning.  Also, regarding Selina’s crit threat, I wasn’t sure the creature would be subject to them.  Maybe it has plant traits.  Also, even if it is subject to crits, a confirmed critical deals a minimum of 7 more damage, so it’s deader.]]

[ OoC: Sorry I missed that, don't know how my phone autocorrected crossbow to xbox]

[OoC: Sorry, I confused editions. On Sunday we played Pathfinder on Roll20 and our Druid has a Tree Companion who IS subject to critical hits, but in 3.5e they are immune to criticals.  ]

Initiatives:
  • 21.2 Tomeal (Damage 3)
  • 20.4 Ning/Nang
  • 20.3 Simon
  • 20.1 Creatures (Medium) [#1 Damage 21]
  • 14.6 Kubo
  • 12.1 Selina (Damage 4)
  • 12.0 Dog
  • 9.4 Betimi
  • 7.1 Crozar
  • 7.1 Elementarii [HD 6; Hp: 49; AC:18; Attack: +7; Damage: (2d6+1)+1d6 Fire ]
  • 4.2 Creatures (small) [3 are Dead] [#3 taken 10 damage]

As the Elemental moves north the creature slashes at the sphere of sunlight... [Tags the creature with Dodge feat (AC19)
Claw attack: [1d20+6] = 13+6 = 19, Damage: [1d8] = 3; Miss
The elemental however spins around the attack, avoiding the Attack of Opportunity. [Mobility adds +4 to AC against AoO.]
Once in position, the elemental lashes out with a band of solid plasma...
Flanking Slam Attack: [1d20+9] = 17+9 = 26, Damage: [2d6+1] = 7+1 = 8, Fire: [1d6] = 1
It gets a solid hit on the creature but the blunt force is easily absorbed by the creature's spongy body.  The flame does scorch the creature slightly. [1 damage  Undecided ]

The last small creature seems to have some kind of intelligence because it moves 5' to avoid Simon hitting it with splash damage from another bomb [moves to O-10 ] It then takes TWO swipes at Tomeal...
Claw attack 1: [1d20+2] = 11+2 = 13, Damage: [1d6-1] = 4-1 = 3; MISS!
Claw attack 2: [1d20+2] = 6+2 = 8, Damage: [1d6-1] = 3-1 = 2; MISS!
The first attack slashes ineffectively across Tomeal's shield.  Then Tomeal completely dodges the second attack.

Even though Tomeal knows the Medium creature [Tagging the Medium Creature with Dodge] is the greater threat, he instead targets the smaller creature first.  So he slashes at the skeletal plant with his longsword...
Attack: [1d20+12] = 10+12 = 22, Damage: [1d8+8] = 4+8 = 12; HIT!!
Which slices the half melted creature in half and it collapses into a cloud of spores. [12 Damage!; Dead!] [Cleave Attack is Triggered!!] Tomeal wants to laugh or cry out in triumph but he's holding his breath so that will have to wait...
Cleave Attack: [1d20+12] = 6+12 = 18, Damage: [1d8+8] = 3+8 = 11; HIT!
Tomeal's blade continues with one fluid motion until it hacks into the larger creature!  The spores hiss out of it's open wound. [11 Damage!]

Ning will communicate with Nang to see if nang has an applicable spell, if not he will fire his crossbow at the medium creature 2.

[[You could use your breath weapon or Nang could use Scorching Ray but neither of you have Precise Shot.]]

Ning will fly 5 feet closer to the east, to L10, but still 15' off the ground and spit-fire downward at an angle to hit just creature 2.
Spit-fire [3d6]=7 acid + [3d6]=12 fire
DC 16 for 1/2

[OoC: This was a very long weekend.  Sorry for the late update. ]

[OoC2: Ning, I'm curious about the DC of the Spitsear?  The DC is 10 + the Host's Dex Modifier (DC14) did I give you the wrong information or do you have something to boost the breath weapon? ]

Initiatives:
  • 21.2 Tomeal (Damage 3 + 3 = 6)
  • 20.4 Ning/Nang
  • 20.3 Simon
  • 20.1 Creatures (Medium) [#1 Damage 21] [#2 Damage 42]
  • 14.6 Kubo
  • 12.1 Selina (Damage 4)
  • 12.0 Dog
  • 9.4 Betimi
  • 7.1 Crozar
  • 7.1 Elementarii [HD 6; Hp: 49; AC:18; Attack: +7; Damage: (2d6+1)+1d6 Fire ]
  • 4.2 Creatures (small) [All 4 are dead]

Ning floats 5' toward the creature Tomeal is battling.  He peers down at the skeletal critter and breaths a cone of acidic fire over its body.
Reflex save: [1d20+4]=10+4=14; Of course... So that's a possible success.  Waiting on Ning's reply about the DC of the attack. [Damage 19 or 9]
Tomeal shields himself from the wave of caustic flames!

Simon pulls another Acid bomb out of his pouch then lobs it at the medium creature [2]... [Precise bomb to Avoid Tomeal]
Range Attack with Precise/PB Shot: [1d20+10] = 20+10 = 30; Damage: [4d6+10] = 17+10 = 27; Possible Critical!
[/url][url=http://www.unseenservant.com/index.php?do=showone&id=218250&macid=0]Confirm Critical: [1d20+10] = 20+10 = 30, Damage: [1d6] = 6; DOUBLE CRITICAL! Cool  Too bad it can't do more damage! Sad

A split second after the blazing cone of acid washes over the creature, a bomb detonates in a devastating green explosion!  With both attacks happening almost at the same time, the combination of flames and fumes makes Tomeal wonder if they opened a portal to some hellish dimension! [33 Damage +9 damage = 42 Damage!]

Creature [#1] lunges at Selina, tearing at her with both it's wicked claws! [Selina has an AC20.  Do you have anything that boost's it higher?]
Claw attack: [1d20+6]=15+6=21, Damage: [1d8]=2; HIT!; Please make a Fort Save DC15
Claw attack: [1d20+6]=14+6=20, Damage: [1d8]=7; HIT! Please make a Fort Save DC15
The first claw scratches down her left and manages to find a week spot in the inside elbow.  It follows up the with the second claw but this time the beast rips into the armpit of her armor, tearing a hole through the chain and deep into the flesh above her right breast.  Any noise made by Selina that sounds like she might be hurt will immediately draw Tomeal's attention!   Angry

Creature [#2] is very F-ed up and might be dead!
It claws frantically at the only target close to it...
Claw attack: [1d20+6]=13+6=19, Damage: [1d8]=1; Miss!
Claw attack: [1d20+6]=17+6=23, Damage: [1d8]=3; HIT! Fort save: [1d20+11]=6+11=17; Success!
The first claw is deflected by Tomeal's shield...
But the second attack dips low and rips Tomeal across the his left leg.  [Damage 3!]

[It's now KUBO, SELINA, DOG, BETIMI, CROZAR, and the ELEMENTAL'S turns]

[[Selina does not have anything to increase her AC as of yet. She had been sword and board until arriving and acquiring a greatsword. Now she has the special greatsword and she will not look back. She does, however, have Steely Resolve, which is now clear and ready to accept 5 of the 9 points of damage she just took in a delayed damage pool, giving her an extra +1 to damage through Furious Counterstrike. I've also been neglecting her maneuvers, so I will need to roll for two of them, one for last round, one for this round...unless you don't allow that. and only allow for this round. First the Fort Saves...]]

Fort Save1: [1d20+9]=19+9=28; Fort Save2: [1d20+9]=8+9=17

Selina grunts slightly at the pair of minor hits, feeling her divine fury contain the damage and direct it properly. The disease-ridden wounds are purified and cleansed almost as soon as they appear. A brief moment to look inward...

[[Maneuver check x2: Maneuver1: [1d3]=1; Maneuver2: [1d2]=1 Vanguard Strike and Douse the Flames, perfect]] ...grants her a moment to focus herself on battle, which she then directs at the enemy before her.

[[Vanguard Strike at Medium creature #1. As per this https://dndtools.net/spells/tome-of-batt...ike--3618/ she makes a melee attack against it. If she hits, all of her allies gain a +4 bonus to melee and ranged attacks against it.]]

Strike!: [1d20+7]=14+7=21; Slice!: [2d6+4]=5+4=9; Sonic Boom!: [1d6]=5

Gritting her teeth in righteous anger, she swings in a vicious, upward cut that leaves a clear mark for her companions to whet their own weapons against. On that note, the Spiritual Moonblade drifts over (moves to J8) and makes an attack of its own at the creature.

Moonblade attack!: [1d20+12]=14+12=26; Damage: [1d8+1]=8+1=9 [[Fantastic!]]

Selina grins in triumph at the creature is slashed again and again, inviting her allies to pile on.

[[Summary:
Move: Moves Moonblade to J8
Standard: Vanguard Strike successful, all allies get +4 to attacks against Medium #1
Total damage to #1: 23]]

Crozar moves across the battlefield while reloading his rivebow [[OOC: move to M13 and free action to reload]].  The plant-man takes careful aim at the creature still attack Tomeal and fires a shot. [[Firing the rivebow at #2 at M9. Rivebow shot: [1d20+3]=12+3=15Rivebow damage: [2d6]=8]].  It also directs the elemental to continue to press the attack on the one it and Selina have been fighting.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
