Flayer? What-flayer? I have never heard about them. What do you know about them? What is their weakness? How can we hunt them and where are they living?

ooc - He is waiting for answer Smile

Ooc- sorry

"Mind Flayers.  They're big brained, man-shaped, monsters with,"  Lugar counts his fingers one at a time, "four tentacles on their face.  They use these tentacles to eat the brains of their victims.  Their skin is oily and grey-blue and their eyes are an empty pale white....  They take slaves for both food and labor.  Mind Flayers, are called such because they have strange psionic powers, able to stun anyone in front of them with a look.  They can read your mind and care nothing for anything that is not a Mind Flayer."  Lugar grows a little silent then continues. "They're weakness?  I don't know, but some of the dark dwarves and drow in the Underdark used numbers and spells, but they can turn your allies against you.  Me though, I would poison the son's of bitches and never get close to their tentacles."

Toot listens in fascination to Lugar's description of Mind Flayers while slowly gnawing on a crust of bread.  Mind Flayers were intelligent creatures; with incredibly powerful minds; who were probably misunderstood for being unconventional in appearance; who were equal opportunity employers; and not particularity fussy eaters.  Toot didn't think they sounded so bad.  Where he come from, big people just scream and squash Jermlaine.  Mind Flayers sounded much more tolerant than other big folk.  Maybe they not murder Jermlaine on sight.

"Toot immune to poison," Toot squeaks when Lugar mentions poisoning Mind Flayers.  "My Mooky said it because we have adamantiny stomachs.  Jermlaine can eat anything we can sink teeth into and often do especially when food scarce."  Toot opens his mouth wider than one would think possible for something so tiny and chomps down on another particularly large chunk of bread.  In doing so he reveals rows of sharp jagged teeth that quickly masticates the hard crust.  "But Toot lucky cuz Boo can hunt so no more eating sticky for this Jermlaine!"  He gives Boo a loving but toothy grin and then tosses his companion a loaf of bread.

Lugar squints at Toot, his left eyebrow raised, and his lips pucker as he sucks some saliva back as if contemplating something.  "Hmmm, do you mind if I take a sample of your saliva?" He asks the tiny Jermlaine, wondering what poisonous properties may lie in the foul mouth.

"So you know a lot about animals?  What's the most poisonous animal you can think of?"  Lugar asks, wondering if the little druid would be obliged to summon said creature to extract a sample of it's poison.

My mind? Stun with a look? Strange.
So we have to cut their tentacles.... and their head of course.

Toot looks at Lugar strangely when he asks for some saliva.

But when asked about poisonous creatures, Toot replies, "Summon Nature's Ally spell very limited.  Most poisonous or in this case venomous creature me can create is HUGE venomous viper.  But venom will vanish when spell end.  Even venom taken from Viper." [DC14; plus con damage for it's first and secondary effects.]

[OoC: Unless the DM has a different rule, I believe anything removed from a summoned creature vanishes with the creature.  I think I read somewhere that it includes all effects yet to happen.  So if the secondary effects haven't kicked in by the time the creature disappears then the poisoned creature doesn't have to make a second save throw.   Sad  ]

OOC - in exchange for saving his life Murkatos will repair, create, and upgrade magic arms and armour up to CL8 on creation cost.

Hey, Murkatos, can you increase the power of my cloak? Zizz gave it to me. He told me: "It is the weakest one but it can save your life if you are lucky. So you have to improve it if you can."

ooc - cloak of resistance +1 -> +3

"Nope. I specialise in arms and armour."

OOC - the city mages can do it at the full price of course and it won't be ready before nightfall. Increase by one is feasible (3000gp is 6hrs)

Hm, only arms and armor, suck. So can you improve my chain shirt then? (ooc - +2 -> +3)

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
