9. Weeping Pond:
#11
Chrome shrugged. He wasn't very strong, but was still carrying well within his weight limit to move around freely. He had nothing he needed to pass off due to his own immobility when overloaded. He was ready to get underway though, and hoped for the best for the dwarf who was going to be leading the way and, hopefully, tying off the rope.

Fort Save: 1d20+5 22 (plus another 2 if it's poison)

Ursk dumps his armor and the group's gear on the "beach" then looks around the cave and notes the lack of imminent danger. He uses the water to wipe off the blood from his brow, then ties the rope to a rocky outcropping if there is one. He gives the rope one tug followed by three, and begins putting his armor back on.

Taijun waits patiently as he lets out the rope slowly while Ursk swims away and out of sight.  His eyes and nose burn from the noxious fumes rising out of the pond but he waits......... One tug.. Three tugs.  "He's made it." Taijun tells the others, then he fastens his end of the rope to something solid. ( A boulder or one of the pitons Reawyn brought )  He prepares his gear and pulls himself along the rope under the water with his eyes closed.

Fortitude Save = 5

As soon as Taijun begins making his way, Chrome follows soon thereafter. He used the rope the entire way down, swimming along it--- whether or not it helped him, at least it guaranteed he wouldn't get separated going a different way for some reason.

Fortitude: 1d20+2 6
Swim (if necessary): 1d20-1 12

Fort save [1d20] = 3

Kayla had always avoided the pond because of the noxious water. She did her best to hold her breath and close her eyes as she moved along the rope, but someone bumped into her under the water and she panicked. Kayla's eyes popped open and she gasped, drawing in a mouthful of the foul water. This, of course, made her panic even more...so she swam with all her might, kicking hard and pulling for all she was worth. Eventually the girl surfaced, gasping for air and heaving her guts out back into the water!

Reawyn calmly wades into the acrid waters, not even seeming to notice the smells. He calmly pulls himself along the rope his eyes wide and looking around with curiousity. All seems to go well until he surfaces on the far side, then as soon as his head pokes out of the water he feels the air across his eyes and feels a sharp burning feeling. He gasps and accidentally inhales a mouthful, sputtering.

[Fort save [1d20+3] = 3+3 = 6]

Coughing he crawls onto the small beach and sits in the absolute dark a moment before speaking.

"Well do i light a sunrod? Or was someone going to use the minor magic that was mentioned before? the one that creates four floating lanterns?"

He abruptly realizes that he might be sounding petulant at the moment, but sitting in the dark when he was the second to last out of the water irritated him, and having to fight the urge to throw up his lunch onto the beach was not helping..

Chrome had pulled himself onto the shore and moved off to the side, and retched something fierce. While the smell did get to him, he'd managed to ignore it as he'd been here for study several times in the past.Actually entering the water and feeling it stick to him was another matter. The ability to take a gasp of air just accelerated his need to remove the contents of his stomach, that which he'd had at Baine's tavern a while ago. Lying on his back after soiling his nice clothes in with the stinking pond water, he heard Reawyn bring up the darkness. "Can't do that one myself," he started, "But i can perform this variety." At that with a quick chant, his clothes began to shine with the equivalence to that of a torch. Lighting up the cave around them, and also the vile he'd produced just besides him. "I may need a minute." He offered, planning to lay down until everyone gathered themselves.

Ursk quickly shakes off the ill feeling and gets right to business.

(Taijun needs a swim check. The rope is useless.)

Chrome easily makes it through the tunnel but is instantly sick as soon as he comes out of the water.

(I need swim checks from everyone. )

Cin waits while the others disappear into the water.  When alone or with only women, she slides out of her armor and removes her shield so she is not hampered while swimming.  When free of impediments, Cin tests the water with her toe.  The water was cold causing her to shiver and have second thoughts.  But Cin wanted to find out what happened to her friend so while gritting her teeth against the cold, she takes hold of the rope and moves into the water.

[Fort Save: +3 = 4]  BLAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!  Confused
[Swim Check: +0 = 8]

The smell was horrid and despite Cin trying everything to keep from throwing up, she fails and vomits up everything in her stomach.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
