Before There Was Hope, Star Wars Saga
#1
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

The Empire rules with a black metallic fist, non-humans are oppressed, freedom is oppressed, the Empire's bleak grey Star Destroyers fill the cold depths of space.  Chance has stranded you in a little known part of space known as "The Minefield," an astroid field that looks to be a short-cut for spacers but often proves to be a deathtrap.  "The Rock" is the only spaceport that exists within the astroid field and it is here you find yourself looking for a means to escape.

Fortune seems to be on you're side when an old and beat up piece of junk, a Corellian XS-800, comes crashing onto the spaceport.  Her captain is looking for a good crew, the old crew is dead, and someone to pilot him out of The Minefield.  Having the keys to the only starship with a hyperdrive on The Rock makes this captain a target for all kinds of envious sorts.  Time is short and just signing up with this captain could spell your doom.  Will you bide your time on The Rock and try to set yourself up as Mayor?  Will you take the first ticket off and make your mark on the galaxy?  Or do you have other plans?  The choice is yours.

Setting - Star Wars, just before the first Death star is blown up
Rules - Star Wars Saga, I never played this version but rules are guidelines anyway right?
Starting level - 4th
I put no restrictions on character creation. You want to be a Jedi? Sure, congratulations you're an endangered species! You want to be a new species? Sure, we'll talk about it! You want to be sadistically evil? Sure, the Empire is always looking for new recruits! You want to be an orphaned farm boy from a desert planet? Sure, not new but ok!

All of my yes. I've got something like a half dozen Star Wars characters just sitting on the back burner, and am totes down for this.

Any hints on ability score generation, or just fishing for interest currently?

Awesome! At this point I'm open for suggestions, likes, dislikes, and so forth for any house rules that people prefer. We can do a point buy system or just use the elite array. The nice thing about Saga is you get more ability improvements.

I'm totally a-okay with the Elite Array. Like you said, getting two Ability Score increases every four levels is a huge advantage.

As far as concepts go, I've got this Noble 3/Scout 1 idea I've been tinkering with. Former scion of an Imperial loyalist family. Sees an opportunity to "get in on the ground floor" of this whole overthrow-the-Empire shtick in a bid to acquire more land/resources/sexy alien servants. Seemingly gambles on the wrong proverbial horse and loses it all; family holdings, wealth, etc., and is forced to flee to the Outer Rim out of fear of gettin' whacked by Imperial Stormtroopers and such for high treason. Very much a character who's a "good guy/gal out of selfishness."

Got two so far now.

Should have announced this before, but it's never too late, I'm looking to run a group of 3-5 to start with.

In a shameless bid for recruitment I'll turn it over to C3PO.

C3PO - "His high exaltedness, the Great Jabba the Hutt, has decreed that you are to be terminated immediately."

Nerdred - "No not that message you idiot, play the other one!"

C3PO - "His high exaltedness, the Great Jabba the Hutt, has decreed that you are to join us immediately."

Looks like might have our third player if Nexendia joins wuth her Jedi. I have ny scoundrel(tech specialist) almost totally done and will be giving Nerdred the char sheet link tonight probably. So it sounds like we actually have a not to badly rounded out party with the Noble/Scout, a Jedi, and a Scoundrel.

I built my scoundrel using the 32 point buy as per Nerdred in the Character Generation thread -- http://forums.rpgaddicts.com/showthread.php?tid=285

If anyone who wishes to play needs the rulebooks PM me. I have this thing called OneDrive. Wink

Hi Nerdred are you still castig for a fifth player?

I'm new to this site, but not to roleplaying. I've been out of the loop for almost a year now due to illness, but I'd like to get in on a fun game. I have all of the pdfs. of the Saga series on files and it wouldn't take me long to churn out a character, depending on need for the group and the general bent of its force side.

Thanks for the consideration.

Thanks for the hearty welcome, Vitkyng.

Considering the tentative casting I'm working on a Scoundrel 1/Soldier 3 character, but I can change that to fit any need the group may have.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
