[IC] SOLO - Portho's Adventure
#11
Cleaning the blade proves to be an easy task, as long as the laundry service personnel won't notice what Portho has done to his cloak.
The case doesn't seem to have any seal, just a cap made of the same hard leather, safely fastened to the tube with a leather thong so even if opened hastily it won't get lost. All in all it's a nice scroll case.

Portho decides that it may be best to find out what is in the tube first before he starts seeking an exit from this room. Carefully he crouches near the floor and with the tube facing away from him pops the top off, then carefully tilts it as if to pour the contents onto the stone floor, from only an inch or two off the ground.

If nothing pours out he will then turn the tube to look inside.

A neatly wrapped scroll, bound with a yellow ribbon, slides out of the tube. A tiny wax seal features the symbol of Moradin.

Portho carefully unravels the ribbon and unfurls the scroll, hoping he might be able to read it.

It's some kind of magic writing and based on Portho's knowledge of arcane, this must be divine.

Portho will attempt to decipher the writing.

[As per d20srd http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/useMagicDevice.htm Deciphering a written spell using UMD = DC 25+spell level.. his UMD skill is +14]
[From roll20..Portho Nihilbuck: rolling d20+14 UMD to decipher scroll (8)+14= 22]
[OoC allowed to retry once per day]

After a full minute of examining the scroll Portho decides he needs some more time to ponder it, and decides to tuck it away for later study. He tucks the scroll back in it's tube and tucks that back into the side pocket of his haversack.

Time to find a way out of here.

Portho sticks his hand into the side pocket of his haversack and pulls out a wand.

He moves to the center of the room he awoke in, faces south, and speaks the command word
"Leiða!!"

Holding his concentration, e examins the south passage, and the south wall of the room.

Looking around he cannot see any secret passages. Will he take those few steps to see where the south passage leads?

Maintaining his concentration Portho edges toward the east wall and moves down it carefully just into the south passage. [Moving to M10]

The gnome can see the corner of another chamber with some more icky stuff inside. There seems to be another stone door leading south from there.

Portho moves carefully down the wall towards the room, worried that his light might attract attention, but not wanting to fumble along in pitch black.

He stops in the corner [M14] to survey the room.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
