She does not know that the immortality makes it so she does not age, The self Revival well You have chitarri behemoth dropped on you and get thrown through a power core, how do you think she survived it. True invulnerability its simply my favorite defensive power, Does nothing against Big G who is a good guy now.... The Hulk .. Hell yes she would love to spar him. Shes an Avengers Fan girl LOL! Besides if you look at the ranks they are actually very low and yes I did use the point buy system with a calculator and went over it three times including the extra 5 points for remarkable  hair, and the 20 points each for True invulnerability and Immortality ... I did not see a star on self revival which is regeneration that oly kicks in after you kicked the bucket from what i understand.  If you want I can re do those but the hair must stay its her shtick!

History: Jena was born to her parents in 2002 she had ten fingers ten toes and seemed to be perfectly normal in all regards. Her parents whom were both mutant haters were over joyed. They work in the fields of, Vetinaryian (Mom) and IT specialist (Dad). Jenna grew up a normal girl in every way that is. They both the twin were terrors before they could walk. Jenna was often a frazzled big sister. Thankfully her wits kept her ahead of them most of the time. Jenna learned to keep on her toes and frankly her sister loves to use her for "Target Practice" which helped train her ability to avoid being hit. Thankfully her sisters slingshot was so weak it was mostly stings and not enough to do more than leave a red mark.

It was during the formation of the Avengers during the great Invasion over new York that Jenna finally got her powers. The Hulk  knocked a huge serpent craft out of the sky and it landed on Jenna who through sheer luck was in a hole in the hull that threw her bodily through the cyber-beasts power core. The exposure to the alien radiation and energy caused her latent mutations to manifest dramatically inside the thing allowing her to rip her way out. Her parents hopes at having a normal child were dashed. Her hair seemingly had a mind of its own. It was trying to be friendly and helpful to her but sometimes it attacks perceived foes on its own like a small guard dog but with more manipulative abilities. He parents heard about this school that had a supposed cure and figured it would either cure her or get her hair under control more. Jenna has no hopes at finding a cure and really likes being one of the smartest people on the planet now Still as a minor she has no choice so she has been shipped off with a trunk of her stuff.

Lillycat,  I'm a little confused by your character.

First, with the exception of your Intution and Psyche, all your stat numbers are wrong.  Typical a minimum of 5; Good is a minimum of 8; Excellent is a minimum of 16'.

Second, I'm not sure why you have hyper intelligence or how you've added together your stats to get Unearthly 88.

Third, I usually don't allow powers or stats to go above Amazing unless there's a reason.  For example, in my other game, Interface is a technomancer and he has hyper-intelligence that raised his Intelligence to Amazing because he's a tech guy so it makes sense.  I'm not saying that Rapunzel can't be super smart but did you have a plan?

Fourth, I have to think about the other players whose ORIGINAL characters were limited to Excellent by another DM.  Since I was thinking about taking over I've relaxed limit for possible crossovers with my other group.

Fifth, looking at your CP costs, you start with 190 (including +10 for being a random mutant). The cost of your powers would be 128pts.

42 = Prehensile Hair
10 = Base Power Cost
15 = for Incredible overpowered
67 = Total

36 = Hyper Intelligence
15 = for Incredible overpowered
10 = Base Power Cost
61 = Total

 This leaves you with 62pts for everything else.  Just to get your Reason to Unearthly 88 would cost you 52pts +25pts(Amazing overpower)=77pts!  That puts you OVER by 15pts and that's before buying the rest of your abilities; your reasourses; Talents; and contacts.

Also you don't buy Popularity.  You have to earn it which is very hard for mutants to do.

Please read this post.  It gives you almost everything you need to know.  There are some powers that give you a minimum starting rank that have a different cost but I will deal with the cost if that happens.

I think what we have here is a failure to communicate.   Tongue

Your character still has too many CP's.  I will break it down for you...

As a Breed mutant you get 180cp's.

Physical Stats: Good 8+ Good 8+ Good 8+ Excellent 16= 40pts
Mental stats: Good 8+ Excellent 16+ Typical 5 = 29pts
Total: 69cp's

Powers:
Incredible 36 Prehensile Hair: Base 10+ Rank 36+ Overpowered 15 = 61pts
Excellent 16 Invisibility: Base 10+ Rank 16 = 26pts
Good 8 sound manipulation: Base 10+ Rank 8 = 18pts
Excellent 16 light absorption: Base 10+ Rank 16 = 26pts
Total: 131pts

Total thus far: 69pts + 131pts = 200pts

Resources (Rank number x2):  Typical 5 x 2 = 10cp's

Popularity??  Should always be 0

Talents:
Throwing weapons = 10
Detective/ Espionage= 5
Repair/ Tinkering = 5
Total 20pts

Contacts:
Crime/Law Enforcement = 5
Total: 5

Grand Total: 235

Even with the limitation you've given yourself of +40 points (which I will get back to) that's 180+ 40 = 220pts.

The Limitation:  Limitations and the number of points they grant are generally negotiated between the player and myself.  The limitation has to be a real limitation and not something negated, even partially by another power or ability.  Your Sound Manipulation is a power that will at least partially negate your limitation.  Someone tries to mute you with their power and you just use your power to try to stop them from muting you.  Or if you are gagged you change the ambient sound to sound like your voice to tell your hair to do something.

The other side to the limitation is how many points is it worth.  The more often the limitation effects your character the more points you get.  What are the chances of you being muted in some way?  For example, Kryptonite would not give Superman as many CP's as someone who had a limitation to wood.  If you were to benefit from a Vocal limitation you would need to be obvious about needing to talk to your hair.  Much like Doctor Strange who speaks his incantations boldly and clearly, you would need to do the same.  No whispering to bypass the limitation and it would need to be in your voice.  To remove a Limitation is Expensive.

The examples on page 9 of the Players Book do not necessarily translate into CP's.  Those are examples of the maximum ranks to which a power may be raised to by limitations.  They may be used as examples of possible limitations though.

I hope I'm not discouraging you.  I can see your enthusiasm which would be great to add to the game.  Just remember that these are teenagers.  Just your Good Fighting is the equivalent of a Police Officer's training.  It's not impossible for a teenager to have a Good fighting but they must have gotten the training from somewhere.  Keep that in mind when assigning stats.

Okay so the 180 pts was not a type-o on your part as the creation section in the link said 190.
As for the limitation get around, I was thinking of sound manipulation as an Auditory stealth, in other words she uses it to keep silent when shes goes invisible, They have no powers or Talents for sneaking about. If you have a better power for sneaking about please tell me or help me make one.

Also that contact comes free with the talent Detective/Espionage.  which would make the character 230 points before the incredible level  and magnified  limitation is applied for 40 points.

The limitation works like this:  She must speak clearly to use her hair, like shes speaking to a rather intelligent dog, fetch the keys, push the button (Which button is a bit too complex), Easy, or attack.  Secondly she can not control it unless she gives it a command much like a dog it will do things (Under GM's control) she may not want it to.  I thought that would make up for anything that might result from the sound problem.
The IN limitation right out of the book you said to use states "Must use Voice to use power."  Frankly I think I made it a much more potent Disadvantage. But again your call.

So point break down is :

As a Breed mutant you get 180cp's.

Physical Stats: Good 8+ Good 8+ Good 8+ Excellent 16= 40pts
Mental stats: Good 8+ Excellent 16+ Typical 5 = 29pts
Total: 69cp's

Powers:
Incredible 36 Prehensile Hair: Base 10+ Rank 36+ Overpowered 15 = 61pts
Excellent 16 Invisibility: Base 10+ Rank 16 = 26pts
Good 8 Auditory Stealth Field: Base 10+ Rank 8 = 18pts
Excellent 16 Light absorption: Base 10+ Rank 16 = 26pts
Total: 131pts

Total thus far: 69pts + 131pts = 200pts

Resources (Rank number x2):  Typical 5 x 2 = 10cp's

Popularity??  Should always be 0

Talents:

Detective/ Espionage= 5
Repair/ Tinkering = 5
Total 10pts

Contacts:

Total: 0

limitation: -40

Grand Total: 180

From Character Creation Section we were told to use : "Starting Points: I think the old characters can have around 210 points, the new characters can have 190 pts, Old NPC's will start with 200 pts. "

So help me out here, If you want I will gladly turn sound manipulation into an "Auditory Stealth Field" So that it will not in any way impact the Disadvantage other than she can not speak when its on as that too is muffled. This would half the power would that make it worth less points? And I can trim down talents for 10 points to get it to fit if I actually missed the 180 points for creation in a post here.  (Remove Thrown weapons)

The contacts can go as well if I need to pay for that slot. Thought it was like a bonus power and since I did not use one in powers ...  Well no big loss. Her family does not want anything to do with her until shes cured because shes too dangerous if her hair decides it needs to attack someone.

The rest I kinda need to wait on your reply before I go modifying the power ranks.

I did try and randomly roll something and well I tossed it when I got 3 Amazing stats and then total suckage on the powers front.

So let em know how we can work on this please.

A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
