OOC - Rancor Pit (OoC Chat)
Please don't think me rude for responding this way. It's just a simpler way of responding to things in order.

1. I was mildly puzzled by what it says here: "You may install more than one Disguised Transponder to give your ship different identities that can be turned on and off, but you take a -5 penalty on your Deception check for every Disguised Transponder already on your ship." I thought we'd need a Deception skill to mount multiple transponders.
2. Yes. I know. Korstyn thinks we need both and the ship has neither.
3. Yes. She's a Tech Specialist and I'm leaning extra-heavily towards her eventually becoming a Combat Engineer. Having a workshop just makes everything a bit easier for her and makes her feel a bit more at home on the ship.
4. & 5. Yeah, true. I don't think a big crate like this ship is going to win many maneuvering contests even with the thrusters.
6...7...8...
9. Okay. I've read what it does and I'm still not sure why we'd need it. Medical beds? Sure. Bacta Tank? Totally. Cryogenically freezing someone? Why?

9. Unsure. Maybe for prisoners

Oh. Maybe stun cuffs are better for that?

I think Cryogenic Chambers should be on our wish list but not something we focus on right now.  Stun cuffs would probably be more than sufficient for most prisoners.  If we were dealing with high level prisoners like Sith or someone like Cad Bane, Cryo chambers would be safer and we'd probably want to use the stun cuffs and chamber to keep them subdued.

"Taking a Stih Prisoner? Who'd want a Sith prisoner? Just cut their heart out and burn it...assuming you could find it."

Well, this is the OoC thread.  Shunna might have a similar line of thought but I wasn't speaking as her.  There are many situations where we might have to keep a Sith alive.  Thankfully, Due to the Rule of Two there are not many true Sith in the galaxy.  But beings like Darth Maul and Galen Marek are still alive until 2BBY.  There are also the Inquisitors and a bunch of Sith Acolytes.  Neither of whom were ever taught by Sidious any real Sith knowledge because he never wanted to take a chance someone might rise up to challenge him.

I was reading a feat (see below) and it mentions being rushed on a skill check. Does anyone know what a Rushed Skill check is?  I've googled it and all that pops up is for taking 10, "When you’re not in a rush and not being threatened or distracted, you may choose to take 10."  But as far as I know of, being rushed is not a thing.  Being threatened or distracted can be defined easily but how does being rushed affect the game.  I have never heard of a DM saying, you can't take 10 because you're being rushed.  Does this feat allow you to, once per encounter say you're rushing so you can take 10?  That seems to be the only way part of this effect could work.  Am I making any sense?  Maybe I'm overthinking it.

Quote:Quick Skill

Your cautious nature provides a bonus to accomplishing extremely dangerous tasks. You are steady and confident.

Effect: Once per encounter, you can Take 10 when rushed on a single Skill Check for a Skill you are Trained in, unless the Skill description explicitly forbids it. Alternatively, you can Take 20 when using a Skill you are Trained in at half the normal time required.

Normal: Taking 20 normally requires 20 times the amount of time needed by a regular Skill Check.

I dunno! This is in beta still but has several books available to view, and a working character generator.

Creeps quietly into the room, hesitant lookig very unstead..

Hello to everyone.

For those of you wondering where I have been for the last three weeks, sick,, very very sick.

It started with a simple case of pink eye, which, while inconvenient was not seemingly a big deal. Having only one eye did slow me down, so I dfecided just to take a few dys off posting, so that I could save my energy for work.

A week of polysporin eyedrops later it was no getting any better. Not worse, just not better. So I went to the walk-in clinic and the Dr. there prescribed Erythromycin ointment. I any normal person, that would have been the end of it. Nope. Not me.

I found out the VERY hard way that I am allergic to erythromycin. Within an hour or so of applying the eye ointment ny eye had swollen until bulged from my eye-socket, swollen totally shut and was streaming pus.

I called the clinic, they had me come to see the same Dr. She sent me immediatly to the ER.

They put me on IV antibiotics for 10 days.

Of course, by this time I was so ick I could barely stand, was taking days off work and having enough trouble seeing through the pain that I wouldn't even look at the websitre. When I wasn't working, I was sleeping.

Yesterday they finally finished the IV, but the infection has not cleared yet. So they have given me some oral antibiotics and steroid ointment for my eye.

I am a little better today, so hopeful.

If all goes well I will be catching up on my threads over thge weekend.

Just to keep everyone abreast of recent developments, DMvitkyng underwent eye surgery yesterday due to complications from his eye infection. Hopefully he will recover soon, but until then all his campaigns and character interactions on RPGADDICTS are on hold.

Just dropping in to see if anyone has an interest in picking up this game and continuing DM Vitkyng's story.  If so, let me know and I can transfer it to you.

ABOUT US
A gaming group started in late 2005 when several members (from all over the world) came together on a long-running forum website called Plothook.net (formally known as Highmoon.net). Several games transformed from a by-the-book format to highly modified versions that became new hybrid systems with completely custom rules and abilities. Ten years later, these faithful players wanted to secure their work and their stories, becoming the basis of these forums.
