Remember, we already have a straight classed Halfling thief.  So If you plan to go Thief you should probably be a Fighter/Thief.  Remember multi-classing is different in 2e than in 3.5e.  In 2e, both classes advance at the same time rather than in 3e where you have to raise each class individually.

So that would make my character a 5th lvl Fighter/ 5 Thief (Bounty Hunter). when generating HP I roll for each class then divide by 2 and add theem together, round ing down right?

Yes and yes.

To everyone, make sure you record how many hit points you get for each level!! If you get energy drained and lose a level you don't want to have to roll how many hit points you lose and end up rolling more hit points lost than you gained the last one or two levels. For example. If you are a fighter and rolled minimum hit points (6) for 5th and 6th level (gaining 12 hp total), and then get energy drained 2 levels, you could roll two 10's and lose 20 hp's! So please record your rolls somewhere.

RE: Character Creation/ Applications - danaoverland - 07-29-2020

how does one dtermine the number of proficiencies for multiclass characters?

Use the best for each.

RE: Character Creation/ Applications - danaoverland - 07-29-2020

HP's (Rolled, or Half max +1, (6HP/4HP))
1st Lvl HP: (10+6)/2 =16/2=8+1(CON)=9
2nd Lvl HP:[1d10] = 4,[1d6] = 3, =(6+4)/2= 10/2=5+1(CON)=6
3rd Lvl HP:[1d10] = 7, [1d6] = 2, =(7+4/2=11/2=5+1(CON)=6
4th lvl Hp:[1d10] = 10, [1d6] = 4, (10+4)/2=14/2=7+1(CON)=8
5th lvl HP: [1d10] = 3, [1d6] = 5, (6+5)/2=11/2=5+1(CON)=6
Total HP: (9+6+6+8+6)=35HP

RE: Character Creation/ Applications - danaoverland - 07-29-2020

do we roll for secondary skills, as well as selecting nonweapon profs, or just select nonweapon profs?

RE: Character Creation/ Applications - DM Vitkyng - 07-29-2020

Secondary skilss is an alternative to proficiencies. You don't use both
