Idea was she is one of the best mandalorians at anything she tries to do. Suspiciously so, not that mandalorians really care very much ‘how’ so long as it wasn’t through means or methods dishonorable to the clan. She understands the creed and accepts it... until, as you say, powers begin to truly awaken and she begins to grow concerned that she will be shunned and labeled an outcast. So she asks for the most difficult assignment and goes AWOL, becoming the outcast she had initially feared.

As I said in my lengthy post, I'm still learning these rules too and I realized that Weapon Proficiency (light sabers) is a bonus feat.  So I had to remove the Weapon finesse feat I had just taken and pick up the Light saber proficiency.

I'm also wondering about the Defense Bonuses gained when picking up a new class, if you add those to your character or do you lose those too!   Huh  I haven't found anything online and the tiny blurb on PG 38 about class features only mentions "bonus feats gained at 1st level."  In the defenses area it doesn't say anything about if you add the defense bonuses of each class onto each other.  Maybe looking at the NPC's and adding up their defense bonuses might provide more clues.

Ah, right in Defense Bonuses in each class it says, "At 1st Level..."  So it seems you don't get to add Defense Bonuses from multiple classes together.  Which kind of make sense for balance.  Someone could take a 1 level in a bunch of starting classes and gain huge bonuses.

RE: OOC - Rancor Pit (OoC Chat) - DM Vitkyng - 11-16-2020

Remember you cannot gain Use the force without Force Sensitivity feat. Since you do not gain Force Sensitivity feat for free unless you take the Jedi clas, and you do not gain skills after 1st level without Skill training feat, you run into a feat bottleneck.

there are three paths to be Force sensitive..
1) Take Jedia as your 1st level class.. so you get borth Forcxe sensitivity as a bonus feat and can take Use the Foprce as one of your 1st level skills.. but this creates a wierd paradox in your background of how did someone force sensitive decide to follow Mandalore

2) acquire Jedi at 3rd level .. getting Force sensitive feat for free and using your level 3 charactewr feat for Skill training to get Use teh force

3) straight noble/soldier/scoundrel/scout class with no class dip to Jedi.. get Force sensitivity as your Character level 3 feat, and Skill training(use the force) as your 4th Soldier class lkevel bonus feat. Or Combo soldier 2, other class 2, just as long as you gain a bonus class feat at 4th level. If you took, soldier 3/scout 1 for example that would not work because you need that class bonus feat after/or at the same time as you gain Force Sensitivity

The net effect is the same, except with no Jedi class = no Jedi talents.. remember Jedi does not mean you come from an actual Jedi tradition.. it just means you are TRAINED in the use of the force.. Once you gain Force Sensitivity you can acquire force talents regardless of class you are gaining the talent int (Force Talents are not the same thing as Jedi talents)

Of cours option 3 means you could have maximum 1 force talent, if any.. your power s would be brand new

I hope this doesn't get too complicated.  Feel free to ask questions if you're unsure.  I'm still learning some of this stuff too!

There is something important about skills and Jedi that you must keep in mind.  Unlike Pathfinder, you just can't put skill points into any skill you want.  Whatever class you start with at 1st Level are the skills you're stuck with and you never add additional points to increase them because they automatically increase every other level.  If you run out of starting skills and you want more then you can pick up the Skill Training feat which allows you to choose one skill from your list of class skills and you become trained in that skill.  Note, without starting as a Jedi you will need to take the Force Sensitivity Feat to gain access to the Use the Force Skill.

BTW, you don't need to be a Jedi to use the Force.  Though there are certain force abilities that only Jedi have access to.

There is an important Side Bar on page 36 of the Core Rules Book that talks about the difference between Character Level and Class Level.  It's specifically important for Star Wars because you only gain the class features of each class WHEN YOU ARE FIRST LEVEL!  That means, if you want be a Soldier then pick up Jedi, YOU GET NONE OF THE CLASS FEATURES OR SKILLS OF THE JEDI CLASS!  In other words, if you pick up Jedi after first level you don't get any of the free starting feats like Force Sensitivity, Weapon Focus Light Sabers and Weapon Proficiency (simple weapons), that a Jedi would get if he started as a first level character.  That means if you want to use the force, you will need to pick up the Force Sensitivity Feat to gain access to the Use The Force Skill.  This is the same for all the base classes.

I believe you can technically take Force Sensitive after 1st Level.  In my opinion I don't think you should be able to but I'm not the DM and I don't think it has ever come up.  I just feel that it would be weird for Han Solo or Chewy suddenly picking up Force Sensitivity after decades of never showing evidence of Force Abilities.  Keep in mind that all characters gain Force points that allows them to do crazy things that wouldn't make them Force Sensitive.

There is a down side to choosing Force Sensitivity after 1st level.  If you do, you will need to waste a feat to pick up the Skill Training Feat to become trained in the Use The Force Skill.  If you chose Force Sensitivity at 1st Level then you could just choose the Use The Force skill as part of your starting skills.
Slightly incorrect.. when you acquire a new class you do gain ONR feat from it's starting feat list

Quote:Starting Feats

When you select a new Class, you do not gain all of its starting Feats. Select one Feat from the list of starting Feats. For example a 1st-level Noble decides to take a level of Soldier and gains one Feat of their choice from the Soldier's list of starting Feats; they select Weapon Proficiency (Rifles).

Obviously in the case of picking up Jedi you would choose Force Sensitivity

Correct, class defense bonuses do not stack. You just take the better.

As rebealed in teh most recent episode, it will be up to you if youi are allowed to take your helmet off, As that is a religious sect thing, not core Mandalorian thing.

Also bear in mind the Era. This is pre-episode IV. Mandalore may or may not be part of the Empire. In reality clan Wren and the pother clans will have JUST sworn fealty to Lady Bp-Katan, making Mandalore a Rebel planet, will have literally taken it over . But you might not know that, very rexently Mandalore was part of the Empire under Clan Saxon. You may or may not know that the dark saver has been taken by Bo-Katan.

This is what I've been saying.  You only get those bonus feats as a 1st level character!!!  If you pick it up at 2nd level, then you will be 1st Level in the Jedi Class but you're a 2nd level character so you don't get any of the bonus feats.

Under class features on page 38 and online, it says you only get those at 1st LEVEL not first level in the class.  On Page 36 in the side bar they go out of their way to point out Class level and Character Level are two different things.  I don't know why they weren't clearer because that goes against everything 3.5 players have learned.  But everything online says if you don't pick up Jedi at First Level then you need to Pick up Force Sensitivity AND Weapon Proficiency Light sabers to be able to use them when you become a Jedi because you don't get them for free after 1st Character Level.

But if you want to house rule that you do get them then WOOO HOOO!!!  I think it's a stupid rule too.

BTW, I found more info about defense Bonuses.  So while you don't add different classes together you do get to pick the best bonus out of all your classes.  So a Solder would have +1 Reflex and +2 Fort, if he then picked up a jedi class +1 Reflex, +1 Fort, +1 Will, you would gain only the +1 Will.  Your final bonus would be +1 Reflex, +2 Fort, +1 Will.   If later you pick up a level of Noble who gains +1 Reflex and +2 Will then your new bonus would become +1 Reflex, +2 Fort, +2 Will.

It's not a house rule" in the section under multiclassing you get ONE and onlyy one of the new classes feats
