RE: Into Barovia - Rhodric - 12-16-2020

[[OoC: I was waiting to see if Rhoderic was able to form speech and breath after his spectacular landing, you described his landing but not if he was able to regain his breath]

RE: Into Barovia - Rhodric - 12-16-2020

"Sorry I was exactly thinking clearly and paniced a little", gasps Rhoderic while rubbing the bump forming on his head.

RE: Into Barovia - GM Marvel - 12-16-2020

[OoC: The mist is no longer bothering you now you're out of it.   So you took 9 damage and then was healed 3 for a total of -6. ]

"Thank you for trying," Aly replies.  "At least we now know not to try to go through the mist or over the gate."  She turns to look at the Cavalier.  "That was a short search.  Did you find what you were looking for?"

RE: Into Barovia - Sumayl al-Akhir - 12-16-2020

"Going around also seems impassable. The only way is onward I guess. "

He helps Rhodric to his feet, then picks up his lance from where Aly would  have had to drop it to assist Rhodric. Walking to his steed he gestures to it and it whinnies and it turns t kneel. He easily mounts and the horse stands up again, prancing, glad to be reunited with him.

RE: Into Barovia - Alynorae Eilnathna - 12-16-2020

"But if you weren't blocked by the mist, maybe you just didn't travel far enough."

RE: Into Barovia - Rhodric - 12-16-2020

"The fog and the trees seem unnatural, and possibly harmful, we should move on!", Rupert says as he remounts his horse.

Aly shrugs, replying, "If you both insist."  She climbs back up onto her horse and starts making her way down the road.

[Unless the Cavalier objects, you all move on...]

You slowly travel toward the South-West down the dreary road.  The towering trees, whose tops are lost in heavy gray mist, block out all save a death-gray light, seem to press in on you from either side of the path before you.  After traveling for about three and a half miles, the muddy road turns to the west and you finally leave the dark woods.  The road before you looks as grey and dreadful as the last several miles but at least the forest wasn't towering overhead.

You travel another mile and a half when you start to see tall shapes loom out of the dense fog that surrounds everything. The muddy ground underfoot gives way to slick, wet cobblestones. The tall shapes become recognizable as the dwellings of the village of Barovia. The windows of each house stare out from pools of black nothingness. No sound cuts the silence except for a single mournful sobbing that echoes through the streets from a distance.

Sumayl spurs his horse to a canter and starts looking for the source of the sobbing.
